One of America's Finest Celtic Harp Players
Kim Robertson is a pioneer of the American folk harp movement. She has combined a passionate sense of tradition with a love of innovation that brings a modern sound to the ancient Celtic harp. Her concerts and recordings include traditional tunes as well as her own compositions.
She began studying classical piano at age eight and continued through college as a piano major. She also began learning the classical pedal harp as a high school senior, although she was not interested in a symphonic harp career. In the 1970s she was introduced to the Celtic harp and grew to love the instrument. She has become renowned as a performer on stage and in the studio and as an instructor. She has been involved in twenty recordings, and has produced eleven instruction books and three instruction videos.
