Celtic Songs for Halloween

Irish & Scottish Halloween Songs - Celtic Halloween

How about a Celtic theme for your Halloween party? Celtic songs could be used as background music. Guests could dress up in Scottish or Irish kilts, or other Celtic tartans, or perhaps as leprechauns or other Celtic characters. Decorations could include Celtic emblems and symbols, such as shamrocks and leprechauns, along with Jack O'Lanterns and other Halloween favorites.

The songs I've selected to feature are: The Witch of Westmorland, Rising of the Moon, Finnegan's Wake, Cockles and Mussels, and Coulter's Candy. These songs could also be used as part of the music repertoire for any Halloween party or event. I've also featured a few Scottish Halloween verses and included resources to help you plan your Halloween event, such as party food, and Celtic costumes and movies.

Happy listening - enjoy!

Hey-How for Hallowe'een!
A' the witches tae be seen,
Some are black, an' some green

Little Old Man of the Barn

When the peat will turn grey and shadows fall deep
And weary Old Callum is snoring asleep...
The Little Old Man of the Barn
Will thresh with no light in the mouth of the night,
The Little Old Man of the Barn.
