Sandals!

I love sandals. When the weather gets warm, all other shoes are neglected. I want my feet to stay cool and free. And I love to show off painted toe nails!

But I'm also on my feet a lot, walking on uneven ground and hiking outdoors. So "pretty" strappy sandals are out of the question. I love them, but I just can't wear them. Being beautiful is just not worth the risk of a sprained ankle.

I need serious, practical sandals. Lots of people mentioned Keens when I was on the hunt for the "perfect pair of sandals." But I do hate to wear clunky, masculine shoes! Keens are not attractive enough for me and my already massive (size 9 1/2) feet. What's a girl to do?

Chacos are the answer to my footwear dilemma -- both sturdy and beautiful!

Facts about Chacos

chacos and dino

  • All Chacos have the Seal of Acceptance by the APMA -- the American Podiatric Medical Association. Why? Because Chacos have arch support, a sculpted heel cup, heel risers, and multiple widths.

  • Chaco sandals have a pull-through strap system -- the straps are fully adjustable at every part of the sandal! That means if you like a roomy toe but a tight ankle, you can adjust for that! Chacos are always comfortable because you can adjust them to suit you and your daily moods!

  • Chacos can be washed in a regular washing machine!

This is a quote from the Chaco official website, "The easiest way to wash the sandals is to throw them in the washer with your clothes once a week. Air dry, preferably in the sun. Don't use too much detergent or it will leave a residue on your sandals. If you have no access to a washing machine, give them a scrub with baking soda and water and rinse well."

That's my kind of shoe! Super easy maintenance!

  • Chacos can be re-soled and the straps can be replaced! Just ship them back to Chacos HQ for some upgrades. (Charges apply, of course.)

  • Chacos come in truly attractive styles and colors. Practical does not have to mean frumpy.

Chacos

pretty and practical

Chaco sandals are the best because they are both practical and lovely! I have the ZX2 style in a very feminine pink color. They are a double strap that circles my big toe and straps firmly around my ankle. The straps do not cut or wear blisters in my skin. The soles are sturdy and skid-free. I am thrilled with this purchase!

Let me be honest with you. I was one of those girls who owned about twenty pairs of strappy sandals -- one pair in every color to match all my outfits. But I realized that my desire to look good was ridiculous as I was climbing up a rocky hill one day. I made up my mind then and there to find some quality shoes that would protect my feet and ankles, no matter what I had to pay.

chaco sandalsYes, $85 to $100 is a lot for a pair of shoes. I mean, I could buy five pairs of those strappy cheap sandals for that much money! But then I realized that skimping on shoes would not be a bargain when I hurt myself from tripping out of my flimsy slides.

So I bit the bullet and bought a pair of Chacos in a fun color that would make me happy. I've been wearing them for about six months now, and I have to say that the cost is truly worth it! I'm already looking at different styles in anticipation of buying another pair in a couple of years.

A Chaco for the Woman who Cares About Looks

as much as comfort and practicality

Worried about buying shoes online? I was too. But Chaco has sizing guides that make it easy to find the right size. Although I normally wear a 9 1/2, I find a Chaco size 9 just right for me. And the beauty of buying online is that you can return things for easy exchange if they don't work out.

Pretty, practical, durable.... it's a Chaco!

The ZX2 has the double strap that makes it just a tad bit more feminine and pretty. The strap around the big toe also offers a bit more support. These are the style I have.

What do YOU think about these two sandals?

Let me hear it. Am I right or wrong? Aren't Chacos the best sandals out there?

Chacos are superior to Keens or any other sport sandal.

Absolutely! Chacos rule!

Keens can be handy for sports activities if you purchase the ones with the toe guards. But for all other wear, it's Chacos all the way, BABY! I wear their flipflops all year long. their a bit pricey, but they last forever and they stand behind the product. My dog chewed on the straps, I sent them to Chaco, they replaced the straps for $5. That kind of customer service is a rarity today, in case ya haven't noticed.

totally fine to use my photo - please just fix the "photo credit" link to reflect my photostream.

I wear Chaco's because I love them, and because they come in my size (womens' 12). Keens do NOT come in my size (boo!). I wear Chacos all summer - their arch support is amazing. I have a pair of their flip-flops, too and they're the only flip-flops I've ever been able to wear. Go Chacos!

No way! Other shoes are equally good or better.

those look comfy, but i love my keens.

I'm a total Teva girl in the summer and a Keen(leather Mary Janes) person in the winter. Love my purple Tevas. :)

Chaco Sandals for Men

These are the sandals I bought for my husband -- basic black -- but there are other colors if your man is a bit more adventurous. He loves them! They offer great support and comfort! He thanks me repeatedly for this purchase.

Although these shoes set us back about $100, I estimate that since these shoes will last at least four years, we spent as much as or less than four years worth of inferior sandals. And darling husband gets to enjoy blister free comfort!

Chacos for the Kiddos

These are the legs of my precious 9 year old daughter on an afternoon at the river. I love Chacos! She can splash in the water and hike on the rocks while her feet and ankles are safe. When we get home, I toss the Chacos into the washing machine. (And she gets a bath!)

And I even bought a pair for my darling daughter. Pretty and practical! What can I say, she's my daughter. She won't wear ugly shoes no matter how comfortable they are.

Developing feet need quality shoes too!
