There is no doubt that football is one of the most popular games in the world and therefore there is a lot of craze and support for the game in all parts of the world. The UEFA Champions League also better known as Champions League is certainly the most watched football event that has been going on since 1955 where football fans can come together to see the clash between some of the best celebrated football clubs in Europe.
The format of the event has now been changed as more and more football clubs have joined the event, but in the earlier days Champions League was basically a knockout event where teams used to get only one opportunity to go to the next level. Currently, there are 32 teams that are divided into eight groups through seeding and therefore they play against each other to qualify in the next stages. The winning team of one group plays with the runner up of another group which further leads to more excitement as the runner up teams have to work harder to retain their position in the game. The prize money for the UEFA Champions League has gone up in recent times due to the amount of demand by the people and currently it is 9 million euros for the winners and 5.6 million euros for the runners-up team.

FC Barcelona has won the championship three times from 2001 to 2011. They have won the UEFA in 2005, 2008 and 2011 which means that they are the current defending champions. Interestingly, they have been in finals with Manchester United twice and both the times they have been able to knockout the most popular football club in the world. In 2005, Barcelona defeated Arsenal to take home the UEFA cup. Right after Barcelona is Milan who has won the UEFA title twice in the year 2002 and 2006 beating Juventus and Liverpool respectively. Apart from that all other teams like Real Madrid, Porto, Liverpool, Manchester United and Internazionale.
