How To Change your IP Address or Use A proxy

Things you will need:
1) Mozilla Firefox 3, Internet Explorer 8 OR Google Chrome

2) A proxy (try http://www.samair.ru/proxy/type-01.htm)

3) Some hands to click here and there

4) A mouse OR an installed driver to use the laptop's touchpad OR a touchscreen device AND devices with wifi connection

What is A "Proxy" or an "Open Proxy"??

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO DO(AFTER FINDING A PROXY FROM THE ABOVE LINK)

To change your IP Address in firefox, you need to go to the browser bar,

1) Click on "Tools > Options > Advanced Tab"
2)In the "Advanced Tab", click on the "Network" tab and click "Settings"

You will see options like "No Proxy", "Auto Detect Proxy", "Use system proxy settings" and finally "Manual proxy configuration".

3) Select "Manual proxy configuration" only.
4) Copy a proxy from samair.ru, for example, 111.222.333.444:9999(this proxy wont work)

The 111, 222, 333, and 444 must be keyed in at the first blank (WITH THE DOTS SEPARATING EACH NUMBER) at the "HTTP" row.
The "9999" is usually the "Port Number", separated with the Colon.
The 9999(WITHOUT THE COLON) must be keyed into the "Port" blank beside the 111.222.333.444

5) Leave everything else blank and click "Ok" and "Ok" once more.

And you are done.

How to check your IP Address?
Go to www.whatsmyip.org and they will tell you. TaaDaaa! your IP is changed.

1) Go to Tools > Internet Options
2) Go to the "Connections" tab
3) Click on "LAN Settings"

You will see " Automatically Detect Settings" , " Use automatic configuration script "
and Under Proxy Server, there is "Use a proxy server ...."

4) Check the " Use a proxy server ..." box
5) Copy a proxy from " www.samair.ru ", for example, 111.222.333.444:9999(this proxy wont work)

1) Click the " Spanner Icon " at the " Top right " of the " Window " below the " X "
2) Click on Options
3) Select the " Under The Hood " Tab
4) Under the " Network " heading, click " Change Proxy Settings "
5) Go to the "Connections" tab
6) Click on "LAN Settings"

WARNING!
You need to try different Proxies as some are not working or are REALLLY REALLY Slow.

I am going to touch on the Pros and Cons of changing IP Addresses.

Pros:
1) Changing IP Addresses can really help when, say, you want to download from famous file hosters like: www.megaupload.com, www.hotfile.com, www.uploading.com, rapidshare.com etc. etc.

You might get frustrated when they say Download Limit Exceeded or when they say "Wait **** minutes before you can download again"
To simply put it, when their restrictions of downloading files comes in.

Changing your IP Address can help make these downloads possible without those limits though you need to change frequently to find one that can bring you to the download page.

2) If you want to surf Anonymously, which means to avoid your ISP(internet service provider) or anybody to track your real location, changing your IP ADDRESS can help alot. DO NOT DO ILLEGAL STUFF THOUGH!

3) Its just great. :P

4) You can access sites that block your IP Address or you can fake your Country with a United States Proxy or IP Address.

Cons:

1) Need to change manually, but can be done with softwares.
Changing the ip address manually can be really Tedious, but you master it, It will just be done in a second! (Like How Me Does It)

2) Some proxies are not working. Needs to be changed again.

3) Some proxies need permission or authorizations, Change to another proxy

4) If a Proxy is a Criminal's IP Address where he is running away from the police and the police is tracking his IP Address, you might get into the middle of it and Another FBI show will commence! ( Very low chance actually. But dont be afraid )
