Email Zen: 7 Secrets To Achieving Inbox Happiness

Conquering E-mail Overload by Looking at E-mail through a Whole New Lens

Your inbox is jammed with e-mails - some old, some new, some urgent, some not-so-urgent, some from familiar names, some not-so-familiar, some BACn, and, of course, some SPAM so graphic even your mouse blushes. You forward, reply, delete, and even archive when prompted, but still no relief from the deluge.

And so it goes: A Groundhog's Day of e-mail management and endless mornings trying to break the code of email efficiency that even DaVinci would have to sharpen his pencil to crack. And quite frankly, that's the problem.

We're caught up in being efficient in e-mail and not focusing on being effective. With over 90% of all business correspondence happening through e-mail with no end in sight, we as the business collective (and we're not alone) seemed to have deemed filing, deleting, and sorting the lion tamer's chair for defending our inbox when, in fact, we really need to avoid waltzing into the lion's den to begin with.
