Changing your life! We all want to change our life in one way or another, even if we think it is perfect. Think long enough and there is something we can improve for the better. Our life should be about changing for the better in every way in every day.
Life sometimes throws us a curve ball. Several years ago God chose to throw my life a curve ball through a special little girl, Abigail. While I was carrying her, my husband and I received some devastating news. Our baby was anecephalic, meaning that she had a neural tube defect that affected her brain, her brain stem, and upper spine area. Our baby, in medical terminolgy, was non-viable. But for us she was not non-viable; she was very much alive and wanted!
The remaining months of my pregnancy were hard, but all the while God was gently and persistently teaching us about His love for us, and our dependence on Him. Many people saw us and remarked on our strength and courage, but it wasn't our strength and courage that showed, but God's strength and courage living out loud through us. Truth is I felt torn inside, heartbroken, and totally without control. But God was there lifting me up, giving me strength to live and... to hope. That HOPE was there, but God had to show me through the beautiful short life of our precious Abigail just how true His love, His presence, and most of all His hope really were and are.
Abigails' birth was bittersweet, but it was what God had chosen for us to face. Abigail lived for almost 24 hours. Because of her condition she could not see us, hear us, or feel us.
God gave us a special gift as she left us. As I was holding her in my arms trying to feed her, Abigail gently turned her head toward both myself and my husband, who was behind me. She opened her eyes and she saw us as she left us knowing that her mommy and daddy loved her very much. Now I rest in the knowledge of knowing that she is no longer unable to see, hear, and feel, for now she is completely whole.
She changed my life. Of course she wasn't the first person to change my life, and I know she won't be the last, but she affected my life in such a way that she changed how I looked at life forever.
We could probably all look back on our lives and see that one moment that changed our life forever. Of course, for some, there are several moments that have changed their life forever.
Over a year ago I had another change in my life when, then as a homeschool mom, I decided to work from home. I joined on as a Distributor with a great U.S. based candle manufacturer. It has truly changed my life too, and the life of my family. One day I hope that my husband can quit the "Rat Race" and help his parents run their family dog training business (www.wagnerk9school.com) . If you would like to find out how you can work from home with your own home based candle business then check out my website: www.successfulcandlebiz.com .
