Ranked #29,634 in Healthy Living, #404,610 overall
And the Seasons They Go Round and Round
Wasn't it just yesterday that Dad was teaching me to ride a bike, or writing a check for my college tuition?
No, it was yesterday that he was doing 100% of the care for my mother, while doing most of the renovations on my old house. That was 4 years ago.
Now Dad lives with me, and he needs a lot of care. He is 92, afterall, but I never thought it would happen.

- That friend that Virginia mentioned was me! I am, indeed, the Keeper of the Gert (that would be Gertie, my mama). I'm getting so much wonderful information and inspiration from your posts. You're just what I needed. Your dad and my mom would have made quite a pair!

- I've sent this page to a writing friend who blogs on this topic as well. Her mother lives with her (age 94). My parents are 86, so this is a topic I'm watching closely.

- Thanks for all the resources. My sister and I can use them. Mom has Alzheimers (middle stages ) and it is a very sad disease...requires a lot of patience.
