From the lens Character Traits.

This too is wonderful...I'm glad you did it. They've found that children learn best with a combination of "characters" and humans. To bad schools don't teach that way.

I know a lot of adults who could benefit from implementing the suggestions on this lens. Very nice.
  • homerepellent Oct 8, 2011 @ 3:33 am | delete
Some studies have shown that personality traits are set from a young age of 4 to 5 years old. However, a new habit can always be cultivated to replace a negative one. Although these acts require time and effort, starting at a young age will provide the child with the advantage and head start to overcome the bad habits. Using animals will definitely reach out to the children in a way that words and speech may not be able to.

    Cheers,
    Homerepellent

Stuff like this should definitely be taught in schools. I am not old, but the new generation are becoming more and more disrespectful.. actually lacking most of the above-said virtues. Good work on the lens!

You should always show your child love and affection, so that your child will grow up being a good person. It is important at a young age for you to teach them what is good and bad, what is right and wrong.

This is great, I am impressed with this concept. I would have to say that Behavior Bear is my favorite. As soon as I saw what you wrote about him helping you to make good choices it reminded me of my five year old son Matthew. Every night we say our prayers we always pray about making good choices, we promise to always try to make good choices.

Mommys too need to make good choices, he gets a kick out of that! This actually works to some degree for me, I will remind him "Matthew are you making good choices" and he does respond sometimes right away and other times a minute or two later, he will apoligize and really try. He will say excitedly "mom I made good choices today!"

He is still a handful, but he is improving! lol
I switched some of my better lenses set at %10 to charity over to this charity.
I hope to keep improving on Squidoo and will keep you in mind.
    Wishing you the best,
    Robin :)
