Charity walk/runs and bike events play a major part in the fundraising efforts of charities around the world. Besides being good for you, running, walking, and biking can now be good for others. Health Charity Walks
Not only is walking good for your health, it's good for the health of others in need.
- Heart Walk - American Heart Assoc.
- Teams of employees, family members, friends and others raise money to fight heart disease and stroke, then walk in the event.
- Jingle Bell Run
- Support the arthritis foundation (includes juvenile arthritis) by getting involved in their Jingle Bell Run.
- National Kidney Foundation Walk
- Walk for someone's kidneys, and help the 20 million people living with kidney problems.
- Asthma Walk
- Search American Lung Association walks by state, and find one near you.
- Light the Night Walk
- Walk for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and build awareness of blood cancers and raise funds for cures.
- MS Challenge Walk
- Walk for those who can no longer walk themselves. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society sponsors nine locations across the US.
- Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International
- Over 200 locations of the JDRF Walk can be found around the world.
- Cystic Fibrosis Foundation - Great Strides
- Find a chapter near you and participate in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Great Strides walk.
- American Diabetes Association
- Find a walk, join a team, or become a team captain for the walk against diabetes.
Cancer Walks and Runs
Cancer includes more than just breast cancer, and every day millions of people live with different types of cancer, including lung cancer, melanoma, blood cancers, brain cancer, and cancers of other organs. Help cancer charities fight all cancers.

Breast Cancer Walks and Runs
Breast cancer walks and runs are probably the most famous charity walks and runs due to the exposure breast cancer gets in the media. However, you have more options than just the famous Avon and 3-Day walks.

Who do you wear pink for?

- Kimberly, this is a great informational lens that is going to get featured on Charity Assessment right now. I believe the charity runs, walks, bikes..etc. are wonderful ways to raise support for special causes, and they raise awareness in communities. I attend special charity causes in our community, and it gives a person a feeling of doing something real good. - I love this lens, wish it had been my idea! :)
