Who is Charles Pero?
The Charles Pero most people know and see often is not quite the same person as the man who writes suspense novels about the world's most brutal, prolific and reprehensible killers. When those who know "Charles Pero, businessman" find out that I also write the Twisted Killer Series of suspense thrillers dealing in depth with serial killers, they immediately realize that there's a side of me they have just not noticed before."
Author's Bio
Born into a Sicilian-American vegetable farming family from a small town outside of Buffalo, New York, Charles Pero began his lifelong career as a farmer and businessman for the multi-million dollar, century old, internationally operated and marketed, Pero Vegetable Company-- now located in Delray Beach, Florida.Being raised around his grandmother who loved to tell stories, Charles developed a passion and talent to create his own stories with mysterious and thrilling twists...which he crafted into novels about serial killers.
Pero developed the Twisted Killer Series and has his own imprint: Pero Thrillers under SterlingHouse Publisher, Inc. The Maze Murderer, Tainted Blood, Torn Apart, and Black Ribbon are all books in the Twisted Killer Series.
While Charles' career as a farmer started innocently, so did his interest in serial killers. He decided to start researching the subject of serial killers and quickly came to a rather startling conclusion: We love our serial killers. We fear them, yes. We never want our paths to cross, that's true. But, to use the old adage, we are drawn to them like a moth to a flame.
Charles Pero is also the mastermind for the traveling lecture series, "A Killer Mind: An Author's Perspective," which delves into the motives and methods of serial killers by studying their psychological make-up. The lecture also gives tips to help women protect themselves from serial predators.

A brutal serial killer is carving a swath of missing women and dead bodies throughout the South, leaving no clue except a blood-soaked puzzle-maze on each victim. Frank Logan, a highly-placed FBI agent, and upstart rookie Vinny Smalldeano, work feverishly to crack the case, even as the bodies begin to pile up all across the country. When Vinny finds the murderer's maze book in Frank's hotel room, he is forced to ask himself: Could the senior director of the FBI's elite Special Circumstances Unit be the Maze Murderer?Buy This Book

I love suspense novels and am looking forward to reading some Charles Pero. Have just finished reading Mary Martin's The Osgoode Trilogy and found it a great thrill ride through engaging characters, devilish villains and an emotionally charged storyline that builds to a gripping climax! Worth checking out. Posted April 23, 2008 |
This is a wonderful read, mostly, at least in my case, because I was dying to find out how the good guys were going to catch the amazingly awful, subhuman but very smart villain. Lots of suspense, and it's well-written to boot!

Charles is a great writer and an even better guy - if anyone can steal some of Patterson's suspense thunder - it's Charles Pero - good characters, a smooth plot, and a twist at the end - Maze Murderer is a fast read because you'll be dying to get to the suspenseful conclusion.
