My husband used to love the TV show Two and a Half Men. I am quite sure that he did not identify with Alan, the younger, geeky brother. I know he did not want to emulate Jake, Alan's kid. So that just left the older brother, Charlie Harper, for him to admire. My man is not a womanizer nor a musician. He does not have a paid maid (unless you count me, his wife, as a paid worker) nor does he drink tiger juice. So what can he like about Charlie? I guess it was the way he dressed! I, too, rather liked Charlie's style--retro casual bowling shirts and cargo shorts.

Who is (was) Charlie Harper?
He is not real, he was on TV--CBS's Two and A Half Men
Charlie Harper is a fictional jingle-writing bachelor living in Malibu. Charlie (formerly the character played by Charlie Sheen before his leaving the series in 2011) is always in cool, casual attire. The 2 and a Half Men's costume designer puts him in comfy retro clothes to reflect his character - laid back and free-spirited. In fact, Charlie has become a virtual catalog for the Hollywood trend of retro fashion. Two-toned, short-sleeved bowling shirts and cabana wear over khaki cargo shorts all gently shout "cool comfort", and Charlie Harper (or Sheen) carries the look off pretty well. He seems most comfortable in camp shirts (basically bowling shirts). CH's look is perfect for his character, who lives in a Southern California beach community.How much of Charlie Harper's style is Charlie Sheen's? Who can tell? Not me. One thing is certain, the Charlie Harper Style has become identified with Mr. Sheen. I am hoping that Mr. Sheen's personality will not affect the popularity of these classic shirts!
