I'm going with.. Charlie Sheen is an Idiot!
Charlie Sheen had a great movie career with some of the best and well known movies in the 80s. In recent years he managed to keep a steady and well paying job, despite himself and his addictions, in the hilarious, and highly successful, Two and a Half Men TV sit-com series. Let's hold our collective breaths for the success of his new series Anger M/anagement. Well, maybe not.
After his act of career suicide, he was hot news with the pathetic Charlie-isms he was spouting like he's "Winning" and that he has death defying "Tiger Blood" . Then there's the unveiling of his unusual Hugh Hefner-like home arrangement a.k.a. "Being Used and Using".
Somehow he's turned out to be his own best promotional wizard. But you know what they say... Negative attention is better than no attention. Well, he's working that angle quite well between his new Twitter account and his streaming video rants. But wait...
He has recently said he's not crazy anymore. I really didn't think that was an viable option, unless very heavily treated, and I don't think he has disappeared any time recently to get that kind of treatment..

So what happened?
In short, to put it nicely, he's been difficult to work with and said something about his boss he shouldn't have. So, he screwed up his life in more ways than one and with the refusal of CBS to continue to put up with his crap, it finally caught up with him. Envision CBS as his enabler who's finally said enough is enough in dealing with this spoiled addict. The intervention had to happen eventually.
They fired him.
About time.
Unfortunately for the people he worked with, not to mention the fans of the show, the series was suspended for a while due to his misbehavior. Does it sound like I'm talking about a little boy who didn't know how good he had it until it ended?
Yup.. that's about right.

About 20 years ago Charlie Sheen ran his brand new multi-million dollar boat onto a pile of rocks off shore just outside Ketchikan, Alaska on some charted rocks near where I used to go halibut fishing. They were kinda hard to see at high tide, but, that is what charts are for. Duh! Winner! He totaled his boat. Someone salvaged it and it ended up sitting just off shore near Ketchikan for a few years rotting away. People I knew made Sheen jokes about what a winner he was long before it was in vogue.

He is an idiot - whether that is because he is a petulant boy who hasn't grown up or because he is somewhat addled by all the drugs, I can't say. But he had disappeared into oblivion until Two and a Half Men came along and revived his career - and now he's bit the hand that fed him. But he's still raking in the cash, so I guess that still makes him a "winner"... for now!

I don't think that because he is a drug addicted person or a tad eccentric this makes him an idiot. He definately needs to work out his demons and strive to use his fame in a more productive manner which I am sure that he will eventually. I hate to see anyone suffer like that. Yes he is certainly suffering.

I think he needs to be in a hospital getting treatment for what appears to me to be a serious mental imbalance. After that, maybe he could turn his attention to growing up. If he'd watch one of his videos as if he were watching one of his children all grown up, I'd wonder if it would make him proud. There's no shame in being who you are, but there's a lot of shame in not trying to be a better person...

Charlie Sheen on his downward spiral...
It's bound to happen, but I sincerely hope we won't be witness to an event of his spontaneous combustion. Or maybe the negative publicity will just fizzle out if we can just stop watching this human train wreck on his path to complete personal and professional destruction. Even so, this situation could get so much worse if there is no one willing to stop him.
Only time will tell. Even though I think he is an Idiot, I wish him well if only for his work in the movie and TV industry, because personally I think he's shown that he is doomed to get in his own way. Apparently with lots of help from his "friends".

- I think that we need to pray for people like charlie... lost man who is surrounded with fame... I actually feel sorry for him. We all make bad choices and we have to look at the fact that he is not us and we are not him. However what he is doing is definately not in his best interest. I hope he fills the hole in his heart with something other than cocaine...

- Regardless of whether he maintains his career or not, the bottom line for me is the appalling role model he is being for his kids. I've always had a soft spot for Charlie despite his wild ways but it has waned, I'm afraid!
