Living in Charlotte NC | 101 Great Reasons to Buy a Home (and live) in Charlotte NC

Wachovia Plaza, Charlotte, North Carolina on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Buying a home in Charlotte North Carolina is only the beginning! Whether you live in Charlotte or are dreaming about relocating here we think you'll find the Charlotte Mecklenburg area has some pretty amazing things to do and some hidden gems! Rather than list all 101 Charlotte attractions we'll give you six at a time (hint: you can find the complete list right now here courtesy of the North Carolina Tourist Guide).

My name is Rhonda Gibbons and I will be your Charlotte tour guide (my geeky husband Michael helps me with my Squidoo lenses)** After 28 years in Charlotte I was surprised at just how many cool attractions there are and embarrassed to say how few I have visited! (Its OK my husband grew up in New York and never went up the Empire State Building or The Statue of Liberty when you could!) So maybe you'll get excited enough about Charlotte to come and buy a house -- we can go explore together! Enjoy!

**Michael says he is the Squidoo editor! (OK but he's still geeky) You can check out his great non- profit lenses

Charlotte NC & Union County Real Estate is Simmering Nicely. Thank you!

ABC News Report | Charlotte NC July 2, 2008

ABC News Nightline (Kate Snow) does a nice job summing up why Charlotte NC region is one of the few bright spots in residential real estate. While some markets sizzled the Charlotte & Union County real estate markets simmered ~ home appreciation in 2007 was 8.5% compared to a 4.3% national average.

And there's more, so much more! that eighty thousand people a year choose to relocate to the Charlotte and Union County areas ~ enough to fill our awesome Carolina Panther's Bank or America stadium!

Enjoy the video and be sure to contact me Rhonda to find out what all the simmering's about!

The mild climate, yet wonderfully distinct, seasonal changes not only enhance the area's beauty, but also afford year-round enjoyment of golf, tennis and bicycling. Rhonda: I lived on Lake Wylie for several years, beautiful (not so secret anymore) alternative to the BIGGIE Lake Norman. Lake Wylie has some fantastic new home developments but retains it's charm with events like the annual 4th of July fireworks -- you've never seen fireworks until you see them from a boat in the middle of the lake!

95. McColl Center for Visual Arts - The center supports an active artist in residence program and their works can be Charlotte McColl Center Visual Artviewed by the public. The Center also offers lectures and artists forums.
I think we've all visited the McColl center during gallery crawls -- always an eclectic display and one of Charlotte's most intriguing architectural landmark. Originally built in 1926, McColl Center for Visual Art is located in a former Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. In 1995, Bank of America acquired the church for and deftly, beautifully transformed the burned out reamins of the church! -- you have to see it to believe it!

A mutual appreciation for each others' work, complimentary styles and a conversation about the color pink has led to emerging artists Dina Lowery and Michael Morgan Gibbons work simultaneously on two separate canvases switching the canvases periodically to work on each others painting. Completed paintings are unique exhibiting the style, inspiration and signatures of two artists. (here's a sample)
