So, let's enter the world of Charming Tails.....

Charming Tails Fast Facts

Did You Know?

Dean Griff is the artist that has created the entire Charming Tails line which is now marketed by Fitz and Floyd.

The first Charming Tails were introduced in 1992 by Silvestri under "The Woodland Collection" label. That is why all Charming Tails produced pre-1996 carry the Silvestri name and it's a good way to know which are the older pieces.

When Silvestri filed for bankruptcy in 1996, their assets were sold to Fitz and Floyd sometime in 1997. Included in that sale was the rights to the Charming Tails brand.

In years following, Fitz and Floyd sold off many assets they acquired by Silvestri, but have always kept the Charming Tails brand due to it's popularity.

The original line of Charming Tails was a 12 piece collection in 1992 under the "The Woodland Collection". It included these pieces:

The Drifters (A & B)
Catching ZZZ's (called Belle and Maxine Catchin' ZZZ's or Mouse and Bird on Leaf Ornament)
Mice in Leaf Sleigh
Chickadees on Ball
Rabbit on Glass Ball/Holly
Mouse on Glass Ball/Holly
Fresh Fruit/Binkey (called Animals in Fruit)
Fresh Fruit/Mackenzie (called Animals in Fruit)
Fresh Fruit/Belle (called Animals in Fruit)
Chicks with Bead Garland
Mouse on Lighted Candleholder Ornament (08300) (not designed by Dean Griff or considered Charming Tails; removed from the Charming Tails line when Silvestri was sold)
There is some debate about the 12th piece. It could be Rocking Mice Musical.

There is a Club for Charming Tails Collectors. It's called The Leaf and Acorn Club and it costs $29.50 a year to join. You can find out more information about the club:

Charming Tails also released some pieces that benefited some great charities. Those include:

A portion of the sales of You Are Not Alone went to AIDS service organizations.

Wishing You Well was released in 1999 and it benefited the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation. It continued as the Charity piece in 2000.

The 2001, You're Berry Special (#89/122) was released. Proceeds from the sales went to benefit The Arc of the United States, a national organization for the mentally retarded.

In 2002, Fitz & Floyd donated a portion of the proceeds from the piece Wish Upon a Star (#83/112) to the Lupus Research Institute.

Fitz and Floyd released a line of "mini" Charming Tails. The theme is the "Squashville County Fair." They are called Teeny Tails and debuted at the Rosemont International Collectible Exposition in 1998.
