After signing to Electra Records in 1985 Metallica released their third album Master Of Puppets and began touring with Ozzy Osbourne. The group was reaching new highs and their new album enjoyed a 72-week run on the U.S. charts. After the Ozzy tour the band moved on to tour Europe. The overseas tour was cut short when on September 26th, 1986 a tour bus accident killed bassist Cliff Burton.

Knowing that Cliff would be the first to want them to move on, the band chose Jason Newsted to play bass. Metallica jumped right back into tour mode with Jason and released an EP of cover songs entitled Garage Days Re-Revisited. Once Newsted was established the band started work on their fourth full length album And Justice For All which was released in 1988. It received a Grammy Nomination for best Metal/Hard Rock album and reached number six on the US charts. It wasn't until 1991 when Metallica released the self-titled 'Black Album' that they finally had a number one album.

Giants History:

In 1925 New York City sports enthusiast Tim Mara paid $500 for an NFL franchise, which he named the Giants. The team played its home games at the Polo Grounds, which was also the home of the baseball Giants. Legendary halfback Jim Thorpe was recruited to join the team, which earned its first league title in 1927 under head coach Earl Potteiger. The Giants shut out 9 of 12 opponents and surrendered only 20 points during the entire season.

Steve Owen was an innovative offensive coach who also designed the platoon system, in which separate players fill offensive and defensive positions. He guided the Giants to the NFL Championship Game eight times from 1933 to 1946. The team came away with victories in 1934 over the Chicago Bears and in 1938 over the Green Bay Packers. New York fielded the league's toughest defense five times during that period.

In 1952 the Giants chose Frank Gifford in the first round of the NFL draft. Gifford, who played as a halfback and a defensive back, was one of the NFL's last stars to play both offense and defense. With Gifford and a new home in New York's Yankee Stadium, another Giants dynasty was born. The team appeared in six NFL Championship Games from 1956 to 1963, collecting the league crown in 1956 before losing five title contests over the next seven years.

Steelers History:
The Pittsburgh Pirates football team was founded in 1933 by Art Rooney. He named the team after Pittsburgh's National League baseball team, and the two franchises shared Pittsburgh's Forbes Field. In 1938 Rooney signed star running back Byron White. Nicknamed "Whizzer" because of his speed, White led the league in rushing that year, but the Pirates won just two of nine games.

After seven losing seasons, Rooney renamed his team the Steelers in 1940. The club registered only three winning records from 1942 to 1949. From 1950 to 1957 Pittsburgh failed to produce a winning record. The team briefly recovered between 1958 and 1963, culminating with a 9-5 win-loss record in 1962.

The Steelers moved to their new home in Three Rivers Stadium in 1970, the same year Pittsburgh chose quarterback Terry Bradshaw of Louisiana Tech as the number one pick in the NFL draft. In 1972, just three years after a one-win season, head coach Chuck Noll led the Steelers to the team's first division title ever. The crown marked the beginning of a dynasty that won seven Central Division championships (including six consecutively) and four Super Bowls from 1972 to 1980.

Eagles History:

In 1933 Bert Bell and Lud Wray bought the NFL's Frankford Yellow Jackets and moved the team to Philadelphia. Renamed the Eagles, the club struggled, posting losing records in each of its first ten seasons.

By the mid-1940s, the Eagles had improved. From 1947 to 1949, Earle "Greasy" Neale piloted the club to three consecutive Eastern Division crowns and two league titles. Steve Van Buren, a mainstay of these teams, captured three of his four NFL rushing titles from 1947 to 1949.

After posting five losing records in the 1950s, the Eagles won their third NFL crown in 1960. Quarterback Norm Van Brocklin, playing his final season, was named the league's most valuable player (MVP) after passing for nearly 2500 yards.
