Homeschooling on a Shoestring: A Jam-packed Guide
Who doesn't want to save money while homeschooling?
I am in my 11th year of homeschooling and I can not think of anything I would rather be doing. I am so thankful for this time that I have had to stay home with my children and educate them. Some mothers really seem to think it is strange that I actually want to be with my children all day. Honestly, I can't imagine sending my children off to strangers every day and not having my children be a part of my life all the time. I want to be around my children. Yes, there are times, I need a break. I do usually spend several hours alone a week and my husband and I spend time watching tv together every night after the kids go to bed, so we have time together. But those are short breaks, not all day breaks, not every day breaks.
Homeschooling is a different kind of life from what most people have. I wouldn't trade it for the world. But there are sacrifices that do have to be made if you choose to homeschool. I've already mentioned that I am rarely without my children and that is find with me, but not everyone likes that. I will have to say, I think it is something most people would get use to if they gave it a chance, but I can not say for sure. Another sacrifice is a 2nd full time income. I can not work outside of the home. I do work from home, but of course, I do not make near as much as someone working a full time job. That is one of the reasons I have to find ways to save money including on homeschool supplies and curriculum. There is a lot of inexpensive and free resources out there. With the reduced income, I need to turn to these resources to help off set the costs of homeschooling.

Excellent resource. So many people are afraid to homeschool because they are worried they can't afford it, they think they have to build a school room in the home. it just goes to show you how simple yet effective the most basic ideas can be in education. Great job on this lens. -
