(And by cheap, I mean absolute BARGAINS!)
First you have to understand that when people default on the payment of their car (or vehicle of any type, including even planes!), the government repossesses these vehicles, and then has to sell them off very quickly to try and recover some money. Maybe the car (or whatever) was obtained through fraud - same thing: it gets repossessed and has to be sold off. Sometimes these cars are only days old!
And they have to sell these cars off fast, because they are literally seizing THOUSANDS of them every day. What's more, according to an easy-to-read booklet put out by the attorney General's Department called "HOW TO AVOID SCAMS AND FRAUD", anyone can be a victim. It really does not matter whether you have an advanced education, substantial assets or lengthy business experience! In fact the people who have the money are more likely to be targets of a con!
I recommend that you check out, in particular, the first few pages of this booklet - it will scare you - but it will better prepare you to find a great cheap car!

Interesting Lens. Good info. Although I have met some "rebuilders" that do a pretty good job. It doesn't always take that much before a car is considered totaled, and they can be repaired relatively easily by an experienced rebuilder. Posted January 20, 2008 |
