Organization is the Key to Taking Cheap Disney Vactions

The key to taking cheap Disney vacations is in the organization. If you take the time to research and plan your family trip you will save a lot of money. That doesn't mean run out and buy every book on the market. It's not neccessary, especially since most of them will be filled with similar information. I do like to have one published book to help me plan the trip, but you can decide which books, if any, you would prefer to purchase. (I have some listed below to help you)

I can tell you from experience that the Fodor's Walt Disney World with Kids is an excellent choice for those taking a Walt Disney World family vacation. Not only does it give parents money-saving tips, but it let's you know which rides may be too intense for your little ones! In fact, I may not have may it through the Disney theme parks with my hair in tact if it wasn't for that book! Visting Walt Disney World with a Toddler or young children can be over-whelming, as well as expensive, but it doesn't have to be if you are prepared!

Disney Hotels

Where you choose to stay can make a huge impact on the amount of money you spend on your Disney trip. The time of year you choose to take your vacation will also make a difference on the amount of money that you spend on a hotel. Walt Disney World has certain times of year that they label the "value season." During the Disney's value season, the nightly rates to stay at the resort are lower; since staying at a resort can save you money on dining if you are traveling during this time staying at the one of the Disney resorts can be your best options. However, value seasons are normally times when children are in school, so it's not always feasible to travel.

If you are considering taking your family vacation during Disney's peak season, it may be wise to stay at one of the hotels in the surrounding area. Most of the neighboring hotels have a shuttle-service that takes guests to and from the main gates. This ensures that they will not only save on the cost of their nightly stay, but they won't have to pay parking either. Also, look for a hotel that offers complimentary breakfast in the morning so that you don't have to eat breakfast in the park. If you have a way to get to the store, you can also purchase bread, peanut butter and jelly that can be used to pack lunch for your family. Walt Disney World allows guests to bring in food as long as it's not in glass containers and doesn't need to be heated. Staying in a hotel that isn't located in the resort can make it easier to navigate the city and purchase the items you need.

Walt Disney World Money Saving Tips!

Each year millions of people visit Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. How many of those people do you think come home feeling discouraged because they over-spent? Probably the majority of them. Making a budget and sticking to it is a great way to guarantee a cheap Disney vacation and here are some tips to get you started:
  • Eat breakfast before you visit any of the Disney theme parks.
  • Pack your lunch. Walt Disney World allows guests to bring food into the Disney theme parks as long as it doesn't have to be heated up and is not stored in glass containers.
  • Mkae a souviner budget. give each family member a specific dollar amount that they are allowed to spend on souviners and let the pick out their own. Sticking to this budget is important if you don't want to over spend.
  • A lot of the items sold in the Disney theme parks can be found in Disney stores across the country. Try to choose souviners that are only sold at the park and save any additional purchases until you get home. Chances are by the time you get home whatever the item was won't seem like such and important purchase and if it is, you can buy it at the store.
  • Pictures are the best souviners. Try taking pictures at each of the picture places that are notated on the Disney theme park map and you can try to find the hidden Mickey's and take pictures of them!
