The New Amazon ebook Kindle 3 is Finally Here !!!
Kindle 3: Compare the latest Kindle ebook readers with Nook and previous Kindle models. Discover where to buy a cheap Kindle 3 for sale right now.

Cheap kindle Well, after all the rumors, the brand new Amazon Kindle 3 has is finally with us. Once again, a lot was said about the possible changes Amazon would make to their already successful reading device. And one more time a great number of them were absolutely wrong. Fortunately for serious ebook readers, nonetheless, Jeff Bezos didn't intend to please everybody nor did he attempt to incorporate every single bell and whistle Kindle's rivals have been adopting lately. Amazon quite simply tried Kindle 3 to become a much better reading device by learning from previous mistakes and shortcomings, and above all listening very carefully to past customers. The result is a very cheap Kindle 3 (only $139 for the Wi-Fi version and $189 for the 3G one), with much better and faster interactivity, excellent readability and even a little smaller, too. Now let's go into details and compare the new Kindle 3 against past models of the Amazon reader such as Kindle 2 and Kindle DX, as well as to its main rival these days: the Nook.
Since we have quite a bit to cover, let's start from the beginning, shall we? The new Amazon Kindle 3 once again offers a 6'' screen, but this time around it comes in a slightly smaller, slimmer body: by conveniently taking away the numbered keys, Amazon has reduced the size and weight of the previous Kindle 2 even more without altering their reader's screen size or damaging its overall usability at all. Quite on the contrary, I've personally found Kindle 3 much easier to handle and use due to a number of improvements in the e-reader's keyboard, such as thinner next/previous page buttons on both sides of Kindle's body. You will find a cheap Kindle 3 reader that's humbly identified previous mistakes of early models, and has capitalized on this knowledge to actually improve the user's reading experience.
But, exactly how much cheaper is the latest Amazon Kindle 3 reading device? Well, the new Kindle ebook reader comes in two versions: one with Wi-Fi only capabilities and then a second model with both Wi-Fi and traditional 3G connectivity, as was the case with the previous Kindle DX, for instance. The Wi-Fi only version is being sold right now at only $139, while the Wi-Fi/3G model's price is a quite modest $189. How to choose between the both? Well, I personally chose the Wi-Fi only version, since I have this kind of access at home and I'm pretty much always near a hot spot everywhere I go. Then again, if you happen to travel a lot or you just can't have Wi-Fi access to the internet at home, you will probably be better off with the Wi-Fi/3G model. 3G connectivity for the Kindle 3 (as well as for other versions) is available on around 100 countries around the world.
Here are some of the most important Kindle 3's improvements over past models:
- Price: I mentioned it before, but I thought I should say it once more. You can purchase a cheap Kindle 3 for almost 50% of the price of a Kindle 2 when it was originally launched. Also, The Kindle 3 Wi-fi only version is $10 less than Nook's Wi-Fi model, and the 3G enabled model is also $10 cheaper than B&N's equivalent.
- Higher E-Ink screen contrast: There's no doubt in my mind that this is one of Amazon Kindle 3's best features. Definition is even better than in previous models (Amazon claims it to be 50% better than Kindle 2's; I wouldn't go that far, but it's definitely the best in the market hands down). In fact, this generation's Kindle's e-ink technology has made possible and even enjoyable to read and e-book in plain sunlight (see the picture), something that would be impossible to do for more than 5 minutes with the Nook or the iPad for that matter.
- Size: You may not notice it when you first open up the box, but The Kindle 3 reader is a bit smaller and lighter than Kindle 2, while at the same time keeping the same 6'' screen. This is due to the elimination of 1 row of numbered keys (which doesn't hurt usability at all, in my opinion).
- Native and improved PDF support: This much needed improvement was first included in Kindle DX. It's indeed very useful, particularly since many docs come now in this format. Along with PDF support being enhanced, other functionalities such as the ability to zoom in by using landscape mode remain the same.
-New web-kit based browser: Not the best browser in the world ,if you ask me (Amazon themselves claim it to be "experimental" at this point), but certainly a nice touch, particularly since the new Kindle 3 has now in-built Wi-Fi capabilities. Still easier to use than the Nook's.
- Overall faster interactivity: Another key improvement. If you're tired of waiting a couple of seconds every time you want to turn a page in your Nook, here's the answer. The software just works great and makes navigation faster and smoother.
- Much longer battery life: About 1 whole month with Wi-Fi turned off, and about 10 days otherwise. If you're careful, the 10 day period can even be an understatement. Also, this low energy consumption means the Kindle 3 reading device never gets hot, so you can hold it for as long as you want.
- The Amazon Kindle 3 holds over 3,500 books and allows you to organize them into categories.
- Enhanced read-to-me features. Now it can even be used for guided navigation.
- Mp3 player: Even though it's definitely a nice touch, I'm afraid it's still not too advanced at the moment.
How to compare the Amazon Kindle 3 and B&N's Nook.
Here are some of the main points:
- Price: Kindle 3 is $10 cheaper than the Nook. I wouldn't base my decision on this, but you may want to take it into account.
- Screen: This is the grounds on which most of us will make our choice. The Nook offers a color LCD screen, which some people tend to prefer at first. In my opinion, a color screen with LCD technology not only distracts you from your reading, but it hurts your vision if you read long enough, particularly under sunlight. Kindle 3's e-ink technology is the best at what it does: allow you to focus on your text and let you read as comfortably as possible.
- Navigation and general interactivity: Everything seems to be much faster and smoother on the new Amazon Kindle 3 reader (not so much on Kindle 2, mind you). Both navigating and turning pages is much faster with the new Kindle. Also, the new Key disposition on Kindle 3's dashboard make it very comfortable to use, and general ergonomics have been improved from previous Kindle models. Then again, ergonomics are the one thing I like about the Nook. Also, Nook's touch screen may seem hipper, particularly in this iPhone era. However, after navigating this way for about a month you'll start to miss Kindle's keys. Again, they have very good disposition and don't distract you from your reading. They're there for a reason.
- e-pub format. This is a popular open format that allows libraries to lend you books, for example, and it's used by B&N's Nook. The Kindle, on the other hand, still uses a proprietary format at the moment . This is an advantage for the Nook, but Amazon claims Kindle will soon incorporate similar functionalities. Besides, with Amazon's library of 100s of thousands of ebooks, this becomes less of a problem.
To sum up: I'd say both Kindle DX as well as the new and cheap Kindle 3 have taken the Kindle family definitely out of beta stage. They're very well thought reading devices, centered on the readers' needs rather than market tendencies. An Amazon Kindle 3 will put the best of current technology at your hands so that you can actually enjoy the act of reading. Even though there will always be a few features to add or improve, you can rest assured that when you buy a Kindle 3 you're buying the most advanced reading device in the market today. Introduction to the Amazon Kindle eBook Reader. Where to Buy Kindle for Cheap
Discover the Kindle wireless reading device and advice on how to purchase it cheaper. Also check out our cheap USED Kindles for sale of all models (including Kindle DX, if available).

Along with the latest breakthroughs in technology (particularly LCD contrast), here comes the new wave of the future: wireless e-book readers. And among them, their flagship product: Amazon's Kindle e-reader. In what's lately become an extremely competitive field, Kindle e-book readers now have 3 outstanding versions to choose from: the very cheap Kindle 1, Kindle 2 ( with both US and International wireless connectivity available) and the brand new Kindle DX model (now with international connectivity as well).
But why right now? - You may wonder.
Well, as I just mentioned above, there is one very important thing (besides the eternal passion for ever changing technology) that has become widely available not so long ago: the ability to design a screen from which reading for long periods of time is actually enjoyable. Almost every user agree that Amazon Kindle's E-ink technology and high contrast screen make using Kindle ebook readers not only a real pleasure, but also a very similar experience to reading from a printed book. In conclusion, no more hurting eyes; that's one of the most important secrets of the Kindle reading device, but it is definitely not the only one as you are about to see.
A close second and another very good reason to buy a cheap Kindle for sale is the fact that it gives us the possibility of choosing from tens of thousands of documents (about 200,000 of them) by just pressing a button, something that's obviously not possible without a digital device of some kind. Those of us who want to buy a Kindle e-book reader can now choose from among thousands of books, all of the main US newspapers and even have immediate access to many of the best online blogs.
As Oprah herself let everyone know on one of her shows a while back: the Amazon Kindle is definitely a "life-changing" experience, and Kindles are here to stay. No doubt about it.

The new Kindle DX : Is all the buzz really deserved? Is a Cheapest Kindles DX an Oxymoron?
To the point review of the latest Kindle wireless reading device sale

The new Amazon Kindle DX is finally here. A lot has been said and written ( and guessed ) about the latest wireless reader by Amazon, and now it's here among us at last. Does Kindle DX really live up to everyone's high expectations, or is this launch just the result of a very well planned marketing campaign? Is Kindle DX actually cheap considering everything Amazon claims it can do?
Well, let's go right to the point :
When you first open up the box, the main thing that will probably call your attention right away is Kindle DX's size. For those of you looking for a comparison between a cheaper Kindle 2 and an (also cheap, read on) Kindle DX, here it is: even though the new Kindle DX is extremely thin (just one third of an inch), its screen is as big as the whole Kindle 2nd generation. This means, evidently, much better readability, but it also implies that you will probably have some problems carrying it with just one hand unless you have pretty big hands. One more piece of advice for you on Kindle DX's weight: it's almost twice as heavy as Kindle 2. Truth be told, I don't see this as a problem at all since neither one is really that heavy anyways, but again it might be something to take into account depending on usage.
Now, these are Kindle DX's most important features and improvements over previous Kindle models:
- Native PDF support. This is really important, since plenty of documents come in this format nowadays. You can now download and carry around with you these documents with ease and safety.
- Much bigger screen: Amazon Kindle DX's screen is a huge 9.7'', which allows for much better readability, even when it comes to PDFs and image-rich documents. Text books and newspapers called for this feature, in my opinion.
- Better text definition: Even though it's e-link technology remains pretty much unaltered, text looks much better on DX than on any previous models. I personally attribute this to better screen contrast.
- Auto rotation feature: This one is not only cool, but very useful as well. Just by rotating the device, you can have a full landscape view, which in fact serves as a mild zoom feature. As mentioned before, this is a most appreciated feature, particularly when viewing large images or small PDFs, whose size you can't directly alter.
- Huge storage: At 3.5 GB, it allows the Kindle DX wireless reader to store almost 3,500 books. This is more than twice the storage capacity of Kindle 2.
- Easy 5 way controller : No problem with key disposition, like in version 1, particularly.
- Wireless connectivity: No surprises here. One of Amazon Kindle's best features.
- Great design: Looks both modern and elegant. Minimalistic aesthetics; perfectly conceived.
Although the new Kindle DX is said to target the textbook and newspaper markets, Amazon has achieved much more with their new model. The latest version of this wireless reader addresses common problems of earlier versions ( like screen size, PDF support, design, key disposition, etc ) and improves on them considerably. The new Kindle reader is not only practical, but elegant and more convenient to use for most readers. Do all these developments justify its price ? That's for each of us to answer, particularly when the Kindle 2nd generation is still a great reading device, and it's now being sold for a fraction of its price ( check links on posts above and below ).
My personal answer to the above question ? Yes. Kindle DX is the next step in the development of e-book readers. And no, a cheap Kindle DX is certainly NOT an oxymoron. To me, it's quickly become a most dear partner. You can buy Kindle DX HERE.

Amazon Kindle 2 tips: How to get books for FREE.

There are a few ways to get all kinds of free content for your Kindle 2 (and all other versions of the Kindle reader as well), and we'll continue to explore them in the near future. But for now, we will start with a simple tip on a very reliable resource from which to obtain e-books for your Kindle 2 reader without paying a cent: Amazon itself.
Let's see. All you have to do is select "menu" and then choose "Kindle Storefront" on the next screen. Once you are there, search the "Kindle daily post", which is a section that Amazon updates quite frequently with books on various topics. These books are simply given away as a gift to Amazon Kindle owners. In any case, they're for you to keep and they usually have very good content. You probably won't find the last bestseller there, but you won't be disappointed, either. Just check the above section on your Kindle often enough.
Well, there it is. See you soon with another Kindle tip.

Kindle Cover: a Necessity for Everyone Who Wants to Buy a Kindle eBook Reader
Protect you Kindel Wireless reading device with the most beautiful ebook covers

Even though the Amazon Kindle e book reader comes with nice protective cover, there are still a few things that can be improved in this area.
One of the most common aspects that Kindle buyers point out as needing further improvement, is the way in which the Kindle cover holds the reading device in place. The two slots designed for this purpose still leave the chance for the Kindle to fall if it's not handled with care.
This being the case, there are a few solutions currently on the market and another one soon coming to perform this important task. Here they are:
A company called Strangedog sells hand-made Kindle covers which are both, very high quality and durable. They even manufacture Kindle covers following customer specifications. The downside is that there is a waiting period before you can get your cover, as there are only a limited number of Kindle covers made per month.
Stylzworld, a second company, offers beautiful brown leather covers at great prices. Their design is very innovative, coming with cutouts for credit cards and the such, as well as cutouts for on/off buttons of the Kindle device itself.
Noreveusa also sells a leather Kindle cover that's nicely built but, in my opinion, does not solve the main problem of the original cover: the Kindle still needs to be handled with a bit of care in order for the ebook reader not to fall to the floor. This Kindle cover comes in three colors and it's beautifully designed, as well.
Finally, Amazon offer many different cases that will help you protect your Kindle reading device, if that's what you're looking for. Also, there's a buzz among Amazon Kindle customers that a new case for the Kindle, the M-edge 100% genuine leather exec cover is coming later this year. It seems it will be THE Kindle accessory to buy this Christmas. Let's wait and see...

A Cheap Amazon Kindle eBook Reader or an Apple iPhone ?
The best of both worlds

It seems that Amazon has recently introduced to the market a brand new app that will let you pretty much turn your apple iPhone into your favorite reading device. Well, sort of, anyway.
This application has no cost whatsoever and it is available at the iTune store, here:
http://itunes.apple.com/
It won't replace a reader like the Kindle - nor is it intended to -, but it's good news for those who already own an iPhone.

Should I buy the $114 or $139 Cheapest Kindles?

A small strip ad appears at the bottom of your library in the $114 ad-supported cheapest Kindles With Special Offers.
(Credit: Sarah Tew/CNET) With the arrival of the $114 Cheap Kindle with Special Offers last week, Amazon.com has created an interesting dilemma for buyers.
The company has duplicated its Wi-Fi-only e-reader from a specs and hardware standpoint but offers you a $25 savings if you're willing to contend with some ads. Or you can choose to see it from a different perspective: to keep your best buy Kindle ad-free, you must pay an extra $25.
Now some of you are probably saying: what's $25? Not much really. Here in New York, it's a couple of drinks at a bar (and sometimes $25 won't even get you two drinks). And out at the pump these days, it gets you six gallons of gas or so, which won't take you very far.
But believe it or not, some people agonize over these types of price deltas, especially as the price approaches $100 and each dollar difference becomes a significant percentage of the overall expense.
That's why Amazon ebooks picked $114. It didn't pick $110 or $99. No, it went with $114. As I said, that's not very much money, but it is just enough to make you think about it--and just enough of a price cut to attract some folks who weren't quite ready to buy a cheapest Kindles at $139. Oh, and maybe at $114, it might just appear cheap kindle enough for a family to buy a second (or third)cheapest Kindle. That's the psychology we're dealing with when it comes to pricing. It's a science and $25 can make a big difference.

So what should you do? Pay the extra $25 to keep your digital reading sanctuary from being contaminated with ads? Or save your money and endure more product branding and subtly seductive "special offers"?
Well, I've been playing around with the $114 Kindle with Special Offers for a few days and much to my own personal horror, the ads didn't bother me at all. In fact, I thought they sort of livened up the home screen a bit, which is sort of blah to look at anyway. (It's just a list of titles and not a fancy virtual bookshelf or anything.) I know that sounds blasphemous and maybe I've just become anesthetized by all the crass commercialism we're constantly bombarded with, but the half-inch strip of an ad at the bottom of the home page just didn't faze me. Truth be told, I was actually curious to see which ad would appear next. (Alas, the selection is rather limited at this point, but I suspect it will grow.)
Currently, the only ads you get served (while you're using the device) are on the home screen and as you're scrolling through your "library" of book titles. When your best buy Kindle goes to sleep, you'll get a sponsored screensaver--as opposed to the default author screensavers--which you can hide by closing your cover or simply putting your Kindle away.
And to be absolutely clear, there aren't any ads within the text of the books you're reading. Nor are there any invasive pop-ups or pop-overs, as we've become used to on the Web.
To click through an ad or special offer, you have to have wireless turned on. So far, the one seriously enticing offer is Amazon's $10 for a $20 Amazon gift certificate, which seems like a no-brainer purchase if you plan on buying any e-books or a cover.
But, David, some of you will say, I wouldn't pay a dime for a device that's ad-supported. Why isn't the cheapest Kindles with Special Offers free or substantially less?
Maybe you're right. But it is what it is for now. As demand slackens--or the advertising dollars really start to roll in--Amazon will cut the price to $99. (We certainly expect to see it there for the holidays.) And in the next couple of years, maybe it will get to free. But today it costs $114 and plenty of people seem to be buying it at that price judging from the fact the traffic to my cheapest Kindle covers feature has doubled over the last couple of weeks.
The long and short of it is $25 is $25. If you're dead set against seeing a single ad on your cheapest Kindles, pay the extra dough. It's not much. But if you're on the fence about shelling out that extra $25--or aren't sure just how much you or the person you're buying the best Kindle for will use the device--go the cheaper route and save the $25. It's worth it. Let's go to amazon ebook kindles store
