Cheap Paintball Guns- what to look for!

CHECK OUT MY REVIEWS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE!

I know that I'm not the only person out there who can't afford to run out to the nearest paintball supply depot and lay down $800 or $900 for a new paintball gun, be it a Cheap Paintball Gun or the most expensive one on the market.

So, I decided to do some research and hey- thought I might as well share it with anyone else in the same boat!!

I know that these are some of the things that you need to check for. Hey- its not worth spending any amount of money on a gun if it doesn't work or is dangerous to use!

So, when you're ready to go shopping for a nice Cheap Paintball Gun, here's the things that I look for first:

Weight

A good cheap paintball gun should be fairly lightweight. If you are going to carrying a gun around for hours at a time- you really want to it to be fairly light!

Ease of operation

A good cheap paintball gun should easy to use. Look at the manual and make sure you avoid paintball guns where you have to use more than one tool to adjust the paintball gun velocity, or where you have to take the paintball gun apart to adjust velocity. You should also be able to load paint and charge up with air and fire easily.

Reliability and durability

Even a cheap paintball gun should be reliable and durable. The paintball gun needs to be able to be knocked around without damaging the gun and it needs to function both cold and hot weather.

Precision and velocity

Check to see that the paintball gun is consistent in its velocity. Also check for side to side motion. Too much side to side motion will affect your shots badly.

Paintballs

A paintball gun should work with any brand of paint ball. Be sure to check to see if the brand you are researching breaks the cheaper brands of paint balls. Remember that you don't often have a choice over the brand of paint balls you use.

A safety mechanism

Any paintball gun should have a safety mechanism which will make the paintball gun impossible to fire if turned on.

Ease of maintenance and cleaning

Any decent paintball gun should be easy to clean and maintain. Be sure to check the manual to see how easy it will be. Also check to see how often the paintball gun will need to be oiled. If it is after every two hundred shots- you may spend more time oiling than you will playing!

Finally- Upgrades and Accessories

Always check to make sure that you will be able to upgrade the gun when you are able to. Check to see what accessories your new CHEAP PAINTBALL GUN will be compatible with.

I just bought a new ion paintball gun the other day. I got it out of the box and it worked when I was dry firing it. When I went to the field the ion was double feeding and chopping a ridiculous amount of paint. I have an electronic hopper, I turned it off and let gravity do the job. This didn't do the job. It was still cutting paint. I tried different paint and nothing worked. I'm just putting a warning out to anyone looking at the smartparts ion gun, DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF CRAP. The gun looks good and sounds like a good deal but it is far from it. If your looking for migrane I would sugest buying an Ion.

Paintball Gun Reviews

Angel Paintball Guns

I'm going to be using this section to do some reviews on the different brands of Paintball Guns.
Please keep in mind that these reviews are my opinion only- you will have to make up your own mind when it comes to buying your own paintball gun.

Tippmann is a very well known manufacturer of not just Cheap Paintball Guns, they are also very popular as suppliers of other paintball equipment.
These are a very popular brand of paintball gun.
These guns have proven themselves to be very reliable and easy to manage. That makes them very suitable for the beginner to intermediate player. They also perform well in any kind of weather. Tippmann's are not made with looks in mind. They concern themselves more with the quality of the gun. The are simple, easy to maintain and clean, reliable, and comfortable to use, with a light and short trigger pull. There is a rarely any paintball breakage, which is a great advantage in any paintball gun!
Some of the specific models are:
Model 98: A basic model with few features. This is the preferred rental gun. The barrel is not that good and you may want to replace it with a better one.
Model 98 Custom: The same as the model 98 only upgradeable. With all the upgrades that you can make, this might be the best choice for a reasonable price!
Pro/Carbine: This model has a heavy trigger, which can be improved if the trigger is fixed. The disadvantage to this model is that you should also change the barrel. In addition this model is not upgradeable and I found it very uncomfortable to use in the field..
SL 68 II: This model is a pump paintball marker and is considered to be one of the best paintball pumps on market. If you are looking for pump, this would be a great model for you.

A-5 series: These are the newest additions to the Tippmann gun family. My opinion is that these are the best semi-automatic available. It comes with a Cyclone Feed System, which is a hopper that fast- feeds paintballs without jamming , up to 800 rounds per minute! This is the only gun that has this feature! There are 3 different guns in the A-5 Series:
A-5 with a reactive trigger
A-5 "Hellcat"- army colors
A-5 Standard, without the reactive trigger.
You can pick up the A-5 series for under $300.00 and they are all upgradeable. For about $170.00 you can pick up the Tippmann 98 Custom which is also upgradeable.
The main advantage that Tippmann guns have over the Spyder brand is the fact that you can upgrade them. Something to keep in mind!
