Plan your trip early! Order your tickets as soon as you're sure of your trip time and destination. Airlines raise the price of their tickets as flight times draw near.

Check for price of tickets between major airports! Most airlines offer some great ticket pricing between major airports and prices jump considerably when you veer off to smaller airports. You might find it cheaper to fly to a major airport, then rent a car to drive short distances to smaller cities.

A recent price check showed the price of a roundtrip ticket from Willington, NC to Moline, IL. cost $307. From Willington to Cedar Rapids, Ia., the trip cost $847. Moline and Cedar Rapids are only 100 miles apart. A short drive for a $500 savings!

If you check around, you can save even more because many airlines offer special, discount deals for travel between major stops.

If you've been wanting to take a sea cruise for your next vacation, you should consider taking it during the "off season". You can usually get a better deal by booking your cruise between August and December.
