What Do You Want to be for Halloween this Year?
Not just for Kids

Every year when October rolls around the big question is, "What do I want to be for Halloween this year?" And it's not just children asking the question, adults are as well. Halloween is not just a kid's holiday anymore. More and more adults are jumping on the costume bandwagon and having a blast doing it! One costume that will work for both boys and girls ages 2 to 92 is the ever popular cheerleader costume.
Cheerleaders Are In

One group of cheerleaders that are recognized around the world simply by those white and blue star spangled uniforms are the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. They even had a series on the CMT Channel called Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders: Making the Team. I don't know too many girls that wouldn't love to be able to make that team! Even though real life doesn't always work out the way we want, there is one day a year that changes all that - Halloween. It is one holiday that we can be anything we want to be.
Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader Costumes

The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader costumes are a huge hit every year. They're definitely not "trendy" for one year and then gone the next. It also helps that Halloween falls during the football season when girls and women everywhere (along with the men) are watching these cheerleaders on television across mainstream America.
Television and Movie Costumes

Television and movies also produce some great cheerleader characters that have found their way from the screen to your front porch trick-or-treating on Halloween night. One of the best movies ever, Grease, brought back the long A-line cheerleading skirt and long sleeve sweater complete with the letter R and a megaphone embroidered on the front. Put your hair in pigtails and throw on those saddle shoes and you too can become good girl Sandy or cheer captain Patty Simcox of Rydell High.
Grease The Movie
On a funnier note, Saturday Night Live had two of the best cheerleading characters ever! Will Ferrell and Cheri Oteri portrayed Craig and Arianna, two clueless Spartan cheerleaders that went off on their own after they didn't make the cheer squad. The skits would have them cheering at different school functions to which they weren't invited such as swim meets, chess tournaments and for the academic team. The Spartan Cheerleaders costumes are perfect for a couple going to a costume party! You can do The Spartan "roll call" and "the perfect cheer" all night long!So this October when you ask yourself what you should be for Halloween, think cheerleaders!
