Hi. Thanks for the idea. I will definitely be using some extra cottage cheese in the fridge for a homemade macaroni bake. No pre-made sauce pouch! The Blue Cheese recipe sounds good too!
  • kmcvay Dec 20, 2011 @ 7:47 pm | delete
Love the Blue Cheese recipe - never thought of that!
  • kerilovesadeal Apr 19, 2012 @ 10:59 pm | delete

See what you've done . . . now I'm all hungry! I may have to pick up some corn-quinoa macaroni and get busy . . . nice lens. Five stars for a great lens on a five-star food.

MMM that baked mac and cheese looks really good! I have made baked spaghetti (yes, I cook) but I never thought of preparing mac and cheese that way. I can promise you I will be trying that out within the next day or so for sure!

The Purple Gallinule stopped by for some Mac and Cheese and loved it so much that she is sending you some virtual Vermont Rat Cheese to try out in your next Mac and Cheese recipe. That is the cheese Vermonters use.

I love mac and cheese. But my mom did not do it when I was young. She made macaroni with tomato or tomato sauce.

Your lens made my stomach growl, so that deserves 5 stars. Macaroni and cheese is so yummy. Your fancy recipes look wonderful, but the best I've ever had is still from Wawa!
  • LucyVet Aug 30, 2008 @ 8:41 am | delete
I love Mac & Cheese, or Macaroni Cheese as we say in the UK. The blue cheese recipe looks great, I have to try that one!
  • The_Party_Animal Aug 29, 2008 @ 9:30 pm | delete
Just had to say - I made Martha Stewart's version after salivating over this page and it was the best ever - I have to say it was better the next day than right out of the oven - this is going into my recipe book and I will make it the day before. Thank you so much for all the extra calories!!!
  • Shreela Aug 29, 2008 @ 12:29 pm | delete
Wow, this really covers Mac And Cheese 8^)
I never really liked it until someone made some from scratch, mmmm gooey cheese! But the boxed powdered cheese, ummm no. So I get married, and find a recipe for homemade Mac And Cheese because hubby said how much he liked it. But he didn't like my homemade MAC because it didn't taste like the powdered kind in a box his mother used to make.

I've always fantasized about mixing the sauce up like a souffle, then folding in with the pasta. Maybe I can sneak in real cheese that way 8^)

I've had the "Ultra Rich" version before. It's a bit like lasagne without the tomato sauce and it's so yummy.
  • TopStyleTravel Aug 25, 2008 @ 1:43 pm | delete
Great lens, 5 stars, fabulous recipes. Have been eating mac n cheese since childhood. Your baked mac recipe is similar to mine. I also use 'Cheddar Cheese' soup instead of flour, for my recipe. I like to eat with a glass of red wine to help the arteries.

Great lens, you made me hungry too and I have no macaroni in the cupboard ... I'm going to sulk in the corner until the shops open.
  • The_Party_Animal Aug 24, 2008 @ 10:44 am | delete
OMG - now that I just wiped the drool off my chin - I will do my desk later. I am starving. Funny I found this and at just the right time too - my son has some good mac n cheese yesterday and I was saying I have to find a good recipe and make some at home. Boy I have been lucky lately. Now I am not so sure this will be good for the diet - but if I make it today - I will be good for Monday - lol 5 Big Fat Cheesy stars from me. Now off to wipe the drool from my desk.
  • MarcNorris Aug 18, 2008 @ 5:44 pm | delete
Mmmm... Mac and Cheese is so good. But I find as I get older, it gets harder and harder to eat.

Enjoyed the lens, but Mac & Cheese is 2nd to homemade meatloaf. But still love the mac & cheese! Thanks for recipes.
