Cheetah prints have long been a popular style of many people for many reasons. For one, they're generally expensive and considered rather exotic; hence they are a symbol of wealth and status. Throughout history, kings and other people have used animal print rugs and such as a sign of status just as mounted animals are kept as trophies. Cheetah print became popular for women in the United States in the late 1960s during the Hippie movement. Most often found in clothing and handbags cheetah quickly became a staple of home decor. Since 2005 cheetah print has become vastly popular in a much more modest setting, the wall clock.
