Chelsea Clinton's Wedding of the Decade

Chlelsea Clinton' wedding, a "wedding of the decade" has attracted the attention of the whole world. By all accounts, Chelsea Clinton had a wedding fit for a princess with unique wedding dress. As parents, Bill and Hillary have done their best to protect her from the gaze of media. We also can see that the wedding has been kept secret quite well including wedding plans on the wedding location, guest list, wedding gown, etc. Now let's go back to Chelsea Clinton's wedding, to see what the wedding of the decade is really like.

Chelsea Clinton's Wedding Time

When was the wedding held?

On Saturday, July 31, 2010, a wedding attracted the attention of the whole world.

Chelsea Clinton's Wedding Place

Where was the wedding held?

The wedding was held at Astor Courts estate, a private Beaux-Arts mansion, Rhinebeck, New York.

The newlyweds exchanged vows under this Jewish chuppah made of branches and flowers in front of 400 to 500 guests in the late afternoon sunshine . As they said the wedding vows, Chelsea Clinton and her new husband read a poem to each other.

And here are the lines written by British poet Leo Marks:

The Life That I Have

The life that I have
Is all that I have
And the life that I have
Is yours
The love that I have
Of the life that I have
Is yours and yours and yours.
A sleep I shall have
A rest I shall have
Yet death will be but a pause
For the peace of my years
In the long green grass
Will be yours and yours and yours.

Attendance in Chelsea Clinton's Wedding

Who attended Chelsea Clinton's Wedding?

Who attended Chelsea Clinton's Wedding? First of all, the Clinton couple Bill and Hillary Clinton who tried their best to protect their daugher fromr the gaze of the public would be the most important participants.

"Today, we watched with great pride and overwhelming emotion as Chelsea and Marc wed in a beautiful ceremony at Astor Courts, surrounded by family and their close friends. We could not have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate the beginning of their life together, and we are so happy to welcome Marc into our family. On behalf of the newlyweds, we want to give special thanks to the people of Rhinebeck for welcoming us and to everyone for their well-wishes on this special day."

There was speculation about a long celebrity list attending the wedding but few celebrities were seen on Chelsea Clinton's wedding day. Actor Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen, who are long-time family friends of the Clintons, were spotted coming hand in hand which brought a swarm of media around them.

The country's fascination with Chelsea Clinton's wedding could be obviously seen from a large crowd of people waiting outside the Delamater Inn, not to mention its dominance of the U.S. media.

Chelsea's grandmother Dorothy Howell Rodham was present at the wedding.
