Cherry Ghost - Debut Album Thirst for Romance, New Album due out this year.

Cherry Ghost is an english band led by Simon Aldred. Based in Bolton, Lancashire, Cherry Ghost found success with their first album Thirst for Romance, a well received, critically acclaimed album featuring tracks such as 4am, People help the People, mathematics and of course, the title track, Thirst for Romance.
The album reached a healthy number 7 in the uk charts in 2007 with the highest charting single being People help the people. In 2008 Cherry Ghost won an Ivor Novello Award for the single, People Help the People, in the catagory of Best Contemporary Song.

Cherry Ghost have also supported artists such as Amy Winehouse, Polytechnic, Fields, Snow Patrol, The Spinto Band, and Crowded House, and were personally asked by Manic Street Preachers to be the support band for their December 2007 tour.

Cherry Ghost are currently putting the finishing touches to their new album due to be released in 2010, and seem set for even more success.

Ok, I confess!

I first heard the songs from the first album on the radio during 2007/2008 and was vaguely aware of who Cherry Ghost were. I liked the lyrics and thought they were great tunes. Radio 2 played the tunes non stop for a while with Stuart Maconie a particular fan. Have a listen to the songs, you will probably have heard them but never even realisied! But....... My interest in Cherry Ghost took a steep upturn when I met my girlfriend in January 2009 (that's her in my bio picture with me). She happens to be the cousin of the bands lead singer and songwriter, Mr Cherry Ghost himself, Simon Aldred. I could put a video on of Simon singing at a party we went to (his mum made him! lol) but although you can see Simon, all you can hear is my other half singing along! So, if I did, she would absolutely kill me before dying of embarrassment! So with that confession out of the way lets continue on to the second album...........

Cherry Ghost - New Album

Cherry Ghost are due to release their new album in 2010. Currently putting the finishing touches on the new album, it has been a long hard road from the first to the second album. Changes of label, difficulties with the cherryghost.co.uk website and not to mention a three year wait! However, the boys believe the new album will definately be more than worth the wait.
