Who is Cheryle Jackson?
Cheryle Robinson Jackson: Chicago Civic Leader
Prior to her history-making appointment, Jackson served in the administration of Illinois Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich, most recently as deputy chief of staff of communications and before that as communications director and chief press secretary, making her both the first woman and African American to hold the position in the state's history.
Before joining Gov. Blagojevich's administration, Jackson spent three years in senior-level government affairs positions with Amtrak as vice president for communications and government affairs. She was responsible for Amtrak's state and local government affairs and served as spokesperson in 41 states, often during times of crises, including the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
In addition, she served in various capacities at National Public Radio (NPR), including as vice president of communications and brand management, director of corporate communications and director of corporate identity and information. Among her charges, Jackson served as national spokesperson and oversaw the network's national marketing, advertising and public affairs operations.
Jackson serves as a director on the boards of the Metropolitan Planning Council and the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and serves on the 2016 Chicago Olympics Committee and the Daniel Burnham Anniversary Planning Committee.

- I've never heard of her, but she must be in the spotlight quite a bit in Illinois due to the Blagojevich scandal (and running for Senate). Nice work!

- Ms. Jackson,
The way to solve underperforming schools in Chicago and IL is not through a lawsuit regarding the funding mechanism for schools. This is ridiculous and ignores the primary problems that exist and in fact focuses on the problem being based on funding. Nonsense. Public schools are govt. run schools. You first have to admit that despite substantially increased funding for public schools in IL to the point where we spend over $11,000 per student, this massive increase in spending has not improved academic results at all and nearly 50% of Chicago public school students drop out. This lawsuit is disingenuous and shows you don't understand the root causes of what ails our school systems. Hint: start with govt. run, unions who care more about dollars for non-classroom administrative functions and low standards for those who actually teach. Once you demonstrate you actually can understand the difference between cause and effect in educational performance, then you'll be ready to maybe consider yourself qualified as a Senatorial candidate. Pretending a lawsuit is the answer to the deficincies of our schools is proposterous and insulting. Give it a rest
