Chess Boxing is a fascinating mix of sport and game. It is an idea that mixes of Brains and Brawn in a really unusual version of the cerebral and the pugilsitic
Chess boxing is a rapidly growing phenomenon. I know what you are thinking, this has to be a hoax. Well. it certainly isn't. It is well organised and governed by the World Chess Boxing Federation. The idea is that the sport of boxing and the game of chess are mixed together in the same tournament.
The contestants square up to each other for a round of boxing and then when the bell goes they play moves in a game of chess. One player might get a thumping in the boxing ring and do really well on the chess board.
Its a blend of the intellectual and physical prowess which proves that you aren't a softy if you play chess or a knuckle head if you enjoy boxing!
