This kids chess set makes it easy to teach your children how to play chess. This chess set includes a two sided chess board (one side with set-up instructions and one without), 16 chess pieces and 56 action cards. Each card has a picture of a chess piece and directions on how to move it.
New chess players start learning at level one. Instead of choosing which piece to move, players draw a card and if they can, they move the piece the card tells them to. Once they've learned the basic moves, players can move on to the next learning step, level two. Now each player draws 3 cards and chooses their move from them. Level 3 kicks it up a notch by having the players draw 5 cards at a time. Once they've mastered how to choose their moves, they can advance to the final level. This is done by flipping the board over and playing without cards.

- Children my foot ... I see half a dozen sets there that I would love to have! This is a wonderful collection of chess sets for children, and I can't think of a better thing to give a child that a game that will teach them how to think strategically. Excellent choices here!
