I am what you would consider a Chevelle junkie! I love them. All years and all styles. I currently own 1 of these bad boys as you see in the picture. I let my other one go to a good buddy. I hope to convert many more people over to be Chevelle lover's as well.

My good friend Tea Junkie (http://www.squidoo.com/teajunkie/) was adding an article to her Squid Junkie lens (http://www.squidoo.com/SquidJunkie/) and discovered my lens being used as an example. See the link above. Man, I just wish she would have put a live link in the article. I am thrilled!

NEW updated goings on with pictures

North Texas Chevelles Car Club

So it has been quite some time since I updated this lense. Life has gotten in the way. A lot has happened since the dyno day. Of course, I got the car back up and running right. We went out to the Good Guys car show at Texas Motor Speedway. Due to a small "incident" on the track (a beautiful truck blew a tire and hit the wall.....) we did not get to make our laps around the track. Next year for sure. We also went back out to the dragstrip and I posted a new best. 9.58 ............. in the 1/8th mile. Down from a 10.34. I told the guys "I have never been so happy about going so slow!". I am looking to do better this Sunday. We also went out to the Cruisin Autumn car show in Wolfe City. A very nice small town (around 1500) and a great show. Will definitely be going next year. Well, until next time. Thanks for stopping by!

The Mistress by frankly25

The Mistress as my wife calls her. All pretty and shiny.

1 run down the track and a couple of burnouts.

Slow 1/8th mile and 1 wheel peeling

A good buddy taped me running down the track. It was a slow pass so you may want to make sure you are completely rested before watching the clip. I will not be held responsible for any forehead injuries due to falling asleep and landing on your keyboard. Honestly, I had a blast running the car down the strip but now I need to look into the throttle, trans kickdown, etc. To make sure all is working correctly. Then the future plan is a 383 stroker with a posi. Then we can get some real speed down the track. Check out the new link of our North Texas Chevelles burn out competition! That was a blast!
72 'Velle open headers with my 7 year old son
Open headers after we removed the old exhaust. The exhaust sound is not so good because it was so loud. However, the best is listening to my son and my wife! Great stuff!

Chris from our club has a knack for creating cool videos from our meetings. Check this out! Watch John's 67 Malibu pull the front wheels for 20+ feet. Impressive!

Our 2nd meeting of the North Texas Chevelles car club at Hot Rods & Hoggs in Arlington. It was a great time and great weather. A little lunch and then a lot of burnt rubber!!!

Things I love more than Chevelles

My kids of course!

Here are my two pride and joys. They both love the cars as much as I do and they love to "help" Daddy. My son is now in Kindergarten and seriously asked me for a real car for his birthday. My daughter will turn 4 in March and she is all girl. It is all about dresses for her.

Before and After

A pic to show the transformation

The transformation is still under way. This is to show you what a Chevelle "was" and what it truly wants to "be". I believe it is an AWESOME transformation as I am sure you agree. If you are looking at this and have a project just sitting in the garage GET OUT THERE AND GET WORKING! You will be happier driving it than just looking at it.

And YES, they are the same car!

Chevelle stuff on eBay

Order up those parts you need to finish your toy

E-bay is a good place to look for and buy your Chevelle parts and pieces. However, make sure you really know the parts and ask for more pictures, have someone local go inspect, only bid on local items, etc. Set a LIMIT on what you will spend. Do not go over the limit if at all possible. It is way too easy to get tied up in the moment and just keep bidding. Good luck hunting!

A few more pics of the toys!

This is my 72 SS Clone with my 72 Wagon that was a daily driver for about 6 months. I then traded it for my 71 Malibu. The wagon was cool and it got looks everywhere I went. I spent alot to get this car running and reliable. After I traded it for the 71 it was sold on E-bay and the buyer drove it 25 hours home with no problem. That sure makes a person feel good about their mechanical abilities.

More Pics

Even another picture.

This is my 72 SS Clone with my 71 Malibu. The 71 was a daily driver for almost 6 months. I have spent some time working on it, cleaning it up, tuning it up, tinkering her and there. This car is dead reliable. It also gets looks everywhere I go. I have a buddy that has been looking for a Chevelle or Malibu. I decided to sell it to him so I can have the room in my small 2 car garage to finish the 72. You can probably see the spray can primer job on the 71, courtesy of me. When I got it home it had a cheap re-paint and it had spots of surface rust here and there. I sanded them all down and "painted" it myself. My buddy is going to clone this car and paint it Cortez Silver with black stripes.

Quick Question

How many cars have I owned?

Here is the picture of all my rides. This is probably too small. You can e-mail me for a copy or you can visit my Chevelle Showroom at http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/member.php/uid/15983 to see it. Thanks!

Well, the short answer is 14. I have been of legal driving age for almost 20 years. The long answer in order with colors:

1976 Pontiac Ventura (orange)
1970 Plymouth Duster (orange)
1984 Ford F150 (blue and silver)
1988 Dodge Shadow (black)
1978 Chevy Scottsdale 3/4 Ton (seafoam green to grey primer)
1985 Chevy Silverado (brown and light tan)
1977 Chevy Camaro (medium blue)
1996 Chevy Silverado extended cab/short bed (dark green and light brown)
1994 Mazda 626 (traded truck in for wife and got this) (dark green)
1998 Dodge Quad Cab (black)
1999 Chevy Silverado extended cab/short bed (my current truck) (dark blue)
1972 Malibu (my yellow SS clone)
1972 Chevy Concourse Wagon (traded it for the 71) (silver blue)
1971 Malibu (being sold to a good friend) (black primer)

I am not done yet. I figure at this rate I should have another 14 in the next 20 years.

Clones?

To clone or not to clone?

This is a hot topic in the Chevelle world and the muscle car world in general. With the auctions such as Barrett Jackson the value of muscle cars are sky-rocketing. The clone cars are now also being called "tribute" cars. These cars are fetching almost as much as a true numbers matching car.

For the average guy these numbers matching cars are well out of our financial realm. Therefore, I started with a 72 Malibu that had alot of the SS parts on it. I continue to build the car the way I want it. I never try to pass it off as an SS. My opinion is that "it is my car built the way I want it." Many may not agree but I say it is my perogative.
