Chi Sao is a Sensitivity Drill To Help Master Hand Trapping

Wing Chun Chi Sao or "Sticking Hands" is an advanced sensitivity drill. Chi Sao trains you to feel the energy and movement of your opponent's attack and react instantly using muscle memory. It demonstrates the raw speed and efficiency of Wing Chun Hand Trapping. Even with closed eyes, Chi Sao practitioners are able to react with blinding speed to counter an opponent's attack (see below).

Bruce Lee incorporated many of the principles of Wing Chun into his own Jeet Kune Do. This photo shows Bruce Lee practicing Chi Sao with his mentor, Grandmaster Ip Man.

WingChunPedia has an excellent glossary of Wing Chun terms. If you would like to go directly to the Wing Chun Glossary, click here.

“When you watch Chi Sao videos notice that their eyes remain closed. This is to practice sensitivity.”

Home Study Wing Chun Chi Sau

Advanced Chi Sau Training

I've found a unique resource that has downloadable video instruction on how to practice Chi Sau. What I like most about them is I didn't even have to wait for DVDs to be shipped or anything. Instead, I got instant access to the videos which is pretty cool.

Click Here to order these downloadable Wing Chun Chi Sau videos.

They have both beginning and advanced Chi Sau videos. You'll probably want to order both. Why not begin your training right away?
