I want to show off my HOMETOWN, CHICAGO. This is a fantastic city for a visit,--a few days or longer. Travel guides take you around what all the tourists see but I want you to also see what is not in the books. For starters, let's go downtown where you can walk til you drop. Been there for a lifetime and visited by thousands over the years.
Located Downtown Chicago--Michigan Avenue

Millennium Park, Chicago
Millennium Park, completed in 2004 (4 years late & enormously over budget) covers the area north of the Art Institute in Chicago built on air rights over commuter train tracks along the Michigan Avenue.

Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago
The Chicago Museum of Science and Industry is the best place to visit while you are in Chicago. They have many exhibits and lots of things for kids to do.

Shedd Aquarium, Chicago
The recreated environments of the Amazon River and Philippine coral reefs at the Shedd Aquarium are only outdone by its newest exhibit, "Wild Reef - Sharks at Shedd," one of the largest and most diverse shark exhibits in North America.

Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago
This is filled with animal exhibits that entertain all people. You can easily spend a day there but bring your own lunch and drinks even tho admission is free. There also is a great park to get in the shade for awhile. North Side of Chicago.

    I love, love, love Chicago! Lived in St. Charles for five years and we'd take the train into the city often. My very favorite - The Art Institute. Great lens. Makes me want to go back for a visit...
