- My rooster was very still the other day and I thought he was sick and dying. Went back later and he was fine. He had hypnotised himself! Very funny

- We have 10 chickens (had 12 but the hawks got 2) and, because we don't have a rooster, they "squat" and wait for our amatory actions when we approach. It's easy to pick them up and my son puts them to sleep by putting his hand over their heads. I'm going to send this link to him and I'm sure he'll try this. Thanks for the excellent tips!

- I have four chooks in my urban backyard in Hamilton, NZ. They are great! I have a mongrel bantam called Coco, a brown shaver called Little Comb, a lavender Araucana called Veronica [who lays green eggs] and a Barred Rock called Queenie.

- I have 6 barred rock hen chicks that are just a little over a month old. They don't have named yet, they're growing so fast it's hard to keep track of which is which, once they're a little more mature they'll get names. I also have a 4 year old bantam hen named Penny and 3 pheasants that are the same age as the barred rocks.
Great lens, 5 mesmerizing stars!

As the owner of 4 lovely chickens, what else is there to do but hypnotise them?
