When was the last time you heard a song from your favorite artist that just made you grin. I don't know about you, but it has been a long time coming for me. Ever since Eddie Van Halen made his product line a bigger priority than his music, I have not been able to look forward to any new Van Halen. The new Metallica was not what I was expecting, the Black album was their last piece of greatness. There just has not been a whole lot out there that gets my head bobbin or gives me goose bumps. That was the feeling I got when I listened to the two tracks on the Chickenfoot website. "Soap on a Rope" has a really cool funky riff, at one point in the song it has a Black Crowes feel to it. "Down The Drain" is the one that gave me goose bumps, really cool riff. It also has a bit of a funk feel to it. Chickenfoot was going to be used as an interim name, I guess the name ended up sticking. I think if these guys can stay together for a few albums, the music will just get better and better. They started recording late last year, the album is scheduled for release on June 5th by
Best Buy. The album will be packaged in heat sensitive art work. Which means you have to touch it to see it. Something you can not get with iTunes.
