The shooting of the film Bratz was completed in 2007. Its plot was centered around four best friends: Cloe, Yasmin, Sasha and Jade who are about to begin high school. Head girl Meredith Baxter Dimly doesn't like the independent spirit of the four girls so she sets out to destroy their friendship and make them conform to her own cliques rules.
Cloe excels at soccer where she meets Cameron, Sasha becomes a talented cheerleader, Jade begins to design great outfits and meets Dexter and Yasmin's special talent is to sing; however she has terrible stage fright. Though compelled to stay within their respective cliques, the friends begin to drift apart. They eventually stop seeing or speaking to each other giving Meredith a temporary victory.

Throughout the film the girls learn to deal with the different challenges of life including relationships with boys, parental separation and jealousy. The film ends happily, when the girls perform together, overpowering Meredith. During the song at the end, the girls kiss their boyfriends on the cheek. Meredith wins the trophy but the girls win a scholarship, which they give to Cloe they are also invited to a red carpet premiere, and they sing at the premiere as the credits roll down.
