  1. Christmas Stockings Guessing Game: Fill a few Christmas stockings with Christmas related items and split your larger group into smaller groups so that each group has a stocking that they can pass around within their group. Without looking, each child has to take a turn to feel an item and try to decide what it is. Everyone needs to get at least one turn, but you can go around more than once. The group that gets the most right is the winner.

  2. Gift Wrap Relay: Wrap one box of macaroni for each group. The wrapped box then gets handed to the first child who runs to their wrapping station containing all tools necessary for re-wrapping the gift. They need to unwrap the gift, re-wrap it and
then run back to give it to the second person in the group who does the same thing until each person in the group has had a turn. The first team to complete unwrapping and re-wrapping the gift is the winner. This game is obviously best suited to older children and is not suitable for younger kids.

Other Ideas for Kids Christmas Party Planning

  1. Ornament Making: Why not get the children to make Christmas ornaments that they can give to their parents to put on display. Cut snowflakes and decorate with glitter, or create reindeer from hand prints, etc. This is a great activity for encouraging creativity in children and also giving them a sense of pride and accomplishment in being able to create something.
  2. Christmas Treat Envelopes: Create Christmas treat envelopes using felt squares and anything suitable to decorate them with. Once they have created their Christmas treat envelopes these can be stuffed with chocolates and other sweets and either given
to a loved one or use this as your scout "good turn" and give the treat envelopes to the needy.
