Protecting Our Children From Illness and Abuse
There is a great need to protect the health of our children. We all should be aware of the over use of vaccines and medications that are being forced onto our children for things such as HPv, ADHD. Many of theses have shown very serious side effects. We should be more interested in teaching our children proper eating habits and exercise activities.

ADHD Drugs Proven Absolutely Useless for Children - Plus, They Stunt Growth
July 09, 2009 by: David Gutierrez, staff writer
(NaturalNews) Stimulant drugs such as Ritalin provide no long-term benefit in the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), according to the latest findings of the ongoing Multimodal Treatment Study of Children with ADHD (MTA), published in the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
According to previous analysis of MTA data, stimulant drugs do improve the social functioning and reduce symptoms of inattention and hyperactivity in children with ADHD for the first year of treatment. In the current analysis, however, researchers followed 485 children for eight years and found that children who remained on medication for that entire time showed no improvement in symptoms over those who had stopped taking the drugs.
"If you put a child on medication, he or she is far better right at that time. The question for parents is: Is this going to make a benefit for my child long term?" said researcher William Pelham, of the University of Buffalo. "The answer is no. Behavioral treatments are going to have much better benefit in the long term."
Another analysis of MTA data, published in the same journal, found that use of ADHD drugs appeared to stunt children's growth. Children who had never taken stimulant drugs were an average of six pounds heavier and 0.75 inches taller than children of the same age who had taken the drugs for three years. This height and weight difference was permanent.
According to Pelham, behavioral treatments for ADHD can be harder to find than drugs, and often insurers will not cover them. Nevertheless, such treatments are available and have been proven to work without the side effect risk of pharmaceuticals.
"It's wrong for a doctor to say to a parent, this treatment is harder to find, so instead we're going to put your child on a drug that will have no long-term benefit," he said.

CDC Vaccine Advisor Pockets $29 Million Promoting Vaccines
Approval of Childhood Vacinations
Monday, June 01, 2009 by: David Gutierrez, staff writer
(NaturalNews) Dr. Paul Offit of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) received at least $29 million from his share of royalties for Merck's Rotateq vaccine after using his position with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to ensure that childhood vaccination with the vaccine became compulsory.
According to a report on the Web site "Age of Autism," a review of CHOP's royalties schedules reveals that Offit likely received between $29 million and $55 million for his work developing the Rotateq vaccine for rotavirus, which causes diarrhea in infants. Because the vaccine is jointly owned by CHOP and by the Wistar Institute but Offit is the only inventor listed on the patent from CHOP, he received 100 percent of inventor's rights payments from CHOP.
Between 1998 and 2003, Offit sat on the U.S. government's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). His involvement with development of Rotateq began before and ended after these dates.
While a member of the ACIP, Offit consistently voted in favor of making vaccination against rotavirus part of the compulsory U.S. childhood immunization schedule. He also voted to rescind recommendation of Wyeth's competing vaccine RotaShield, while aggressively advocating for the idea that other rotavirus vaccines would be less dangerous.
"Unlike most other patented products, the market for mandated childhood vaccines is created not by consumer demand, but by the recommendation of an appointed body called the ACIP," Olmsted and Blaxill write. "In a single vote, ACIP can create a commercial market for a new vaccine that is worth hundreds of millions of dollars in a matter of months."
In the case of Rotateq, its addition to the vaccine schedule led to an increase in yearly revenue of $655 million over the course of two years.

Drugging all new mothers and their babies!
Is this the next step for Big Pharma?
The new thinking of the psychatric profession is to screen all new mothera snd their babies for mental illness. The prpose appears to be to sell more drugs. Many of which have been proven to cause severe side effects, Including drug dependence and suicide.
We can not allow this to happen and make our nation totally dependent on the drug industry. The following video gives just a very brief explanation of this concept.

Pediatricians Finally Admit Children Need More Vitamin D
Friday, April 17, 2009 by: David Gutierrez, staff writer
(NaturalNews) The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has doubled its recommended daily vitamin D intake for children and adolescents, citing concern over rising levels of rickets as well as new evidence that higher vitamin D intake may help prevent against a wide variety of diseases.
Vitamin D plays a critical role in bone health. Deficiency in children can lead to the bone-softening disease rickets, which can cause permanent deformity.
"New evidence [also] supports a potential role for vitamin D in maintaining innate immunity and preventing diseases such as diabetes and cancer," the new policy reads.
The policy increases the recommended vitamin D intake for children and adolescents from 200 IU to 400 IU per day.
"The recommendation is going to be essentially a supplement for every child and adolescent in the United States," said co-author Frank R. Greer, a University of Wisconsin pediatrician.

Flame Retardants Linked to Hyperactivity, Dioxin Linked to Immune System Impairment
Toxic Body Burden
This article recently published on The American 'association for Health website reveals how our children are developing immune system weakness by airborne chemicals. It is amazing that this information is so hard to find.
Daniel Silver
CDC and Johns Hopkins researchers have now documented the toxic body burden that every American carries in his or her tissues. What role do environmental toxins play in the biochemical reactions that drive the human body? Autoimmune disease, cancer, neurodegenerative disease, and even diabetes are frequently mentioned as being caused or exacerbated by environmental toxins.
A New Scientist study has found that phthalates-which are too minute to cause a reaction individually-when combined can suppress hormones like testosterone in those exposed. The work of Dr. Phil Landrigan at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine has shown the adverse affect of phthalates and other toxins on children. One in six American children are now behaviorally or learning disabled, and Americans have anywhere from ten to 100 times higher levels of flame retardant chemicals in their bodies than Japanese and Europeans.
The current issue of NeuroToxicology reports that a common flame retardant found in house dust and now in our bodies causes hyperactivity and behavior adjustment difficulties that worsen with age in laboratory animals. Exposure to the chemical deca-BDE early in life has a lasting effect on the brain. Deca-BDE is a widely used type of polybrominated biphenyl esters, or PBDEs. Two other commercial PBDE mixtures are largely banned or discontinued in the US and in other countries.
Additionally, for the first time researchers have found that laboratory animals exposed to dioxin in early life have a diminished ability to fight infections such as the flu even later in life. While dioxin levels in the environment have dropped since the 1970s, women of child-bearing age are cautioned to be extremely vigilant. Lean cuts of beef, dairy products that are low fat, and lots of fruits and vegetables are recommended to minimize the risk of dioxin exposure.

Just Say No: Low Fat Diets are Not for Children
Kids need more fat in their diet
Wednesday, March 25, 2009 by: Elizabeth Walling, citizen journalist
(NaturalNews) With childhood obesity levels climbing at an alarming rate, it's no wonder parents are more concerned than ever about what their children are eating. Adults are constantly bombarded with the latest diet foods and weight loss pills, and in a world that's so weight-conscious, it's difficult not to translate these ideas into the way we deal with our children's health. Although we want our children to be healthy, diet fads are not the answer. This includes the standard low-fat diet, which is suspiciously ineffective for adults in the long-term, and downright dangerous for our children.
In 2007, a study from the University of Delaware was published in the Nutrition Journal which showed children and adults burn about the same amount of fat each day, even though children burn much less overall energy. Children need a diet higher in fat compared to adults. They need around 5-10% more calories from fat than adults do. This is because, even though children are smaller in size, their bodies use an enormous amount of energy in support of growth and development. This includes the development of the nervous system, immune system, bone structure and muscle tissue. ...

Six Baby Bottle Manufacturers Quietly Agree to Remove Bisphenol-A (BPA) from Baby Bottles
Baby bottle protection is back.
Monday, March 09, 2009 by: Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor
(NaturalNews) After years of insisting Bisphenol-A (BPA) posed no threat to the health of babies, six larger manufacturers of baby bottles have announced they will stop shipping new baby bottles made with the chemical. No existing baby bottles are being recalled, however. Nor are they being taken off the shelves of retailers. The baby bottles being purchased and used by babies right now still contain BPA, a hormone disruptor chemical linked to serious health problems like breast cancer and reproductive abnormalities. ...
The six companies that have agreed to stop using BPA in baby bottles sold in the U.S. are:

"Vaccines Court" Protects Drug Manufacturers
Do we need to relook at the vaccine protection for drug companies?
"Vaccines Court" Protects Drug Manufacturers
Last week's issue of Pulse of Health Freedom discussed the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, a no-fault payout system designed to protect vaccine makers from the kind of costly lawsuits that drove many out of the vaccine-making business in the 1970s and '80s. This compensation program was put in place in 1986 in the hope that it would encourage the development of new vaccines.
Vaccines have been responsible for huge reductions in childhood diseases, and in the case of smallpox, its complete eradication. At the same time, however, this program-and the "vaccines court" that hears the plaintiffs' cases, buffers Wyeth and other drug companies from much of the litigation risk, and has made Wyeth a very wealthy company-worth $68 billion according to the price being paid for it by Pfizer. Vaccines account for over $21 billion in sales for their various manufacturers.
Because of this, many experts are questioning whether the shield law is still appropriate. Critics say the vaccine court's ruling last month that routine childhood immunizations are not linked to autism underscored the limited recourse families have in claiming injury from vaccines. "When you've got a monopoly and can dictate price in a way that you couldn't before, I'm not sure you need the liability protection," said Lars Noah, a specialist in medical technology at the University of Florida's law school who has written about vaccines.
While injured parties can bring lawsuits in civil court under certain conditions, they face restrictions on punitive damages, and the difficult and costly process means that most plaintiffs settle for whatever "vaccine court" decides.
Does the lack of liability for drug companies compromise the safety of vaccines? Many critics believe that if patients had greater freedom to sue vaccine makers, drug companies would employ a much higher degree of oversight.

Mercury Vaccines replaced with toxic chemical
Aluminum now takes the palce of mercury.
Vaccines containing high concentrations of neurotoxic aluminum were added to the child immunization schedule when several vaccines containing mercury were removed. Two-month old babies now receive 1,225 mcg of aluminum from their vaccines -- 50 times higher than safety levels!
