"What's the Deal with Bruno?

50 Children's Christian Stories

50 Children's Christian StoriesIn "What's the Deal with Bruno?", the new kid Bruno starts school. His tattered clothes prove his poverty to classmates, and he soon becomes the target of the meanest bully, Rocky.

New pal Andrew takes Bruno under his wing, offers him a full lunch, and advises him to avoid the bullies. Bruno happily befriends Andrew but doesn't seem to be bothered by any negative talk; in fact, he acts like he hasn't a care in the world.

An afternoon show-down between Bruno and Rocky shows that Bruno is not a poor boy to be pitied, but the son of the wealthiest man in town.

Kids will learn about humility and loving others.

A Swear Word in Heaven

50 Children's Christian Stories

In "A Swear Word in Heaven", little Georgie lives with his family in Heaven.

He plays with other kids, runs and laughs, hangs out with Jesus, and hugs God whenever he wishes. He doesn't know how old he is, or how long he's lived in Heaven. It doesn't really matter because he is happy living with God's family.

One day, a terrible looking thing was found in Heaven. It was green, round, without happiness, and oozed a horrible sound 'plop, plop, plop'. Georgie ran to Jesus to find out what this thing was. Jesus said it was a swear word. Someone thought it was okay to say a swear word, and now, it needed cleaning up.

Why would anyone say such a terrible world? Because they felt empty and wanted to show off, explained Jesus.

The kids learn that swear words are bad words and how Jesus turns this into praise words.

I have worked with children of all ages for years and it always amaze me the number of parents who do not know how to minister salvation to their children. The home is the first place a child should hear about Jesus.

I completely agree I think a lot of the basic skills learnt by good parenting are slowly being lost. Teaching a child about religion is one of the most important things, religion gives them a moral or a metaphor to live their life considering themselves and others around them. Thanks for your visit, take care.
