- The teacher's desk should be in the power position, facing the door with it's back firmly against the wall.
- Children's desks should also sit facing the doorway of the room; a desk facing a wall represents an obstacle and when a child's back is to the door, positive energy has a harder time reaching them.

- Every child needs to have recognition for a job well done. Create an "achievement area" with awards, ribbons, pictures or trophies displayed in the southern "recognition" area.
- Shells and fish are symbols of educational success. Place a conch shell or a picture of koi, or goldfish, in the northeast corner; representing wisdom and learning.
- Create a "yin" (motivating) energy in a room with an aquarium, fountain, live plants, and natural light sources.
- Another good way to activate positive chi in a study environment is to place a crystal sphere in the main window of the room.
- Water symbolizes the flow of knowledge and serenity.
- The best color to enhance children's study is soft green; which represents knowledge.

- Unbalanced: prolonged exposure to large amounts of intense yellow can cause anxiety.
Orange: Filled with yang energy, orange strengthens concentration. Orange gives a sense of purpose and is the color of organization.
2. Yin colors, according to Feng Shui, are the colors that bring about healing and relaxation.
Blue: Blue is calm and soothing. This color reflects love as it heals and relaxes. Blue creates a feeling of peace and trust. Since it is the color of the sea and sky, Feng Shui associates it with adventure and exploration.
- Navy Blue: the color of intellect and wisdom, great for a classroom!
Black: Black symbolizes money and income, black is great for career focus, especially when combined with metal. Black is also the Feng Shui color of emotional protection and power.
Purple: Purple, lies at the end of the color spectrum, and has great significance. The color is excellent for physical and mental healing and Feng Shui associates it with spiritual awareness.
White: White represents poise, confidence and purity. Because of it's significant yin energy, Feng Shui uses this color mostly in combination with gold or silver to generate calm feelings.
