By now, you probably will have heard about the horrible earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12th, 2010. At the time of writing this, the country is in chaos and an undetermined amount of people are believed to be dead. It will probably be weeks or months before anyone will know the full impact of the devastation. Your children will probably also hear about this horrible tragedy. They may be confused and a bit curious about Haiti. You can use this page to help educate your child about this country. The proceed of this page will be donated through Squidoo to International Rescue Committee.

Where is Haiti?

Haiti shares the island with the country of the Dominican Republic. It is near the countries of Cuba and Jamaica, just south of the state of Florida.
