I'm making this page about children reading because I've noticed that most children do not like to read. They prefer playing video games or watching a movie on their iPod. In other words, electronics have taken over the minds of our children. So, if this is the case, then why not use that to get your child to read something educational for their class or just for fun? Providing your child with something to help them develop a fun way to learn isn't so bad. Getting your child to read is what this is all about.

Reading To Children

Reading to children starting at a very early age has been recommended by average parents to medical professionals. Do you read to your children? If not, you might want to take some time during the day, if you have a chance or at least before your children go to bed. Of course, if your child is a pre-teen or a teenager, they may not be interested in you reading them to sleep, but why not offer a short story or just a minute or two of conversation about their day or what they have going on the next day. This gives you an opportunity to get them to offer a discussion about their homework or what they've had to read lately. Using time before bed to talk and read with your children earns you "parent's points" as well as develops trust and happiness as a family.

Benefits Of Reading Together

What are the benefits of having your children reading together? If you have more than one child why not sit them down together and have each one read to the other? This brings about a closeness between the two that could prevent the potential fussing and disagreements between siblings. And, when you join in to read to them, remember, this enhances your "parent's points" with your children and increases the chance of them coming to you to talk openly about anything as they get older. There are true benefits of reading to your children or having your children read to each other. Family strength is only one benefit, but that's a great benefit.

Families Working Together

Family Home Based Businesses

For those families who home school their children, or for any family for that matter, have you ever thought how exciting it would be to develop a business with your children? Something that you like, but one your children will like as well. This gives everyone the opportunity to laugh, talk, discuss, read and learn something new together.

There are, of course, many home based businesses, but do your homework and find the one(s) that is right for you and your family. Let your children research what they are interested in doing too. This is a great way to start a conversation with your children including your teens.

Don't under estimate the power of starting a small business together. If researched properly with everyones interest at heart, developing more family time can easily be achieved with this.

If you're interested go to your favorite search engine and type in whatever interest you and your family. Jot down a few names of online businesses, network marketing, mlm, work from home (keywords) then do your research on each one.

You will have fun doing this.

Who wants to start their child reading almost immediately? Well, check out the Amazon "wireless" book called the Kindle. Your child is used to working electronics and wireless devices, then why not provide a wireless device that can help develop their reading time and skills. Also, the Kindle can be used for their very on journel and daily class, fun and work schedules. The Kindle might just be the answer to their lack of interest in reading. And, it might help improve their organizational skills too!
