We have just said goodbye to another year, and with it another fashion season. 2010 was full of great styles, the trendy country look, the cutesy Japanese style, is 2011 set to be as good? Let us look at some of the children's fashion trends that are expected to hit the high street this year.

Unfortunately, this year is set to be an expensive one for parents of fashionable kids. It seems the latest trends, in both boys clothes and girls clothes, is the theme of luxury. Expect to see plenty of velvets, suede, and leathers, as kids experiment with upmarket sophistication. Designer clothes are the order of the day when it comes to fashion, parents and kids alike will be flocking to the high street to fill their wardrobes with all the latest designer styles.
Leading designers have children well and truly in their sites this year, despite the costs, designers are hedging their bets that children will be able to convince their parents to part with their hard earned money to buy that 'must have' designer boys tracksuits or that pretty designer dress. All age groups are being targeted, from toddlers to teenagers: parents beware. Of course, you savvy parents out there will know where to find a bargain, the internet or the mid-season sales
Environmental Concerns
As with many areas of life, ecology is high on the agenda, and eco-friendly clothes will be hitting the shops in droves this season. Boys clothes and girls clothes alike, will be constructed from sustainable materials, of particular prevalence will be organic cotton and hemp, but a more obscure and interesting material is bamboo
A Return to the 80s
As ever, there will be a resurrection of fashions of the past, and 2011 is looking set to copy the 1980s rocker look. Taking away the sex and drugs, rock is definitely in. In addition, we will see a continuation of influences from the Far East, particularly from Japan and China; Geisha dresses, dolly shoes, expect to see kids rocking up the trend in style
And, Don't Forget the Dresses
Dresses are never far from the conscience of the fashionable female, and they play a prominent role in kid's clothes this season. Fashioned from floaty materials, this fashion will be perfect for spring and summer.
