Children Songs Lyrics and Music

One of the best sites we enjoyed when my kids were little and still do (if only we had the time) is the NIEH's Kids' Pages. That is why I am giving it special mention here instead of lumping it together with other links. This link takes you straight to the index for Children's Songs and Midis with lyrics included. The songs are organised alphabetically which makes searching for your favourite kids songs very easy.

I think I've explored almost every song in this index. I used to play the music and sing to my babies when they were little. Even playing back some of the songs now bring very sweet and lasting memories.

Here is another excellent site for Children's Songs. Songs are organised according to genres such as Silly Songs, Activity Songs, Traditional Songs, Animal Songs, Lullaby Songs and many more. With over 2000 songs, you can't go wrong here when searching for children's songs. The songs come with lyrics, some of the include downloadable music midis so you can sing to the lyrics and play music in the background. You can also download the lyrics in pdf format or watch some of the YouTube videos that come with some of the kids songs.

KIDiddles is another good site for Children's Songs. Here I have provided the link that goes directly to the all songs index for the site. The Childrens songs are organised alphabetically as well as according to subjects like Valentine's Day Songs, Learning Songs, World Songs, Actions Songs and more.

What I like the most of about this site is the fact that if provides free downloadable song sheets (professional looking lyrics with pictures that you can print out), free sheet music and free activity sheets. You can find them on the left sidebar. Some songs come with video and free downloadable midis as well. For action songs, the lyrics indicate the action you can do with your child within brackets in colored text just below the lyrics. Very comprehensive indeed. You will need to sign in to get to those free song sheets and music sheets for kids songs but don't worry, its free!

If you want to teach your child about different cultures through songs, then this is the place to go to. Mama Lisa's World has Children's Songs and Nursery Rhymes from all over the World. These International Kids Songs all come with lyrics and some have free midis or mp3s that you can download.

You don't have to be a homeschooler to find it useful, anyone can teach their own child music, singing and rhyming. Again, I have brought you straight to the Children's Song's Index so you can go straight to the Children's Songs.

You can download free Children's Songs Midis as well as the lyrics or song sheets to hand out to students or children to sing along.

LearnEnglish Kids , British Council's website for children, has a page dedicated for teaching kids English through songs. You may go direct to the link to view the flash videos for kids English songs or if you prefer, you can listen to their playlist on YouTube for their most popular songs for kids.

Childen's favourite songs from CBeebies characters can be found here. This link leads to the alphabetical listing of songs but you can choose by themes too. Some song themes include everyday life, animals and nature and seasonal themes incluuding CBeeBies Character theme tunes.

You can also choose the songs based on children's favourite CBeebies shows such as Bob the Builder songs, Chugginton songs, Guess with Jess songs, Postman Pat Songs and others. These children songs are on video but printable lyrics are available.

Bryant Oden started putting his songs on Youtube in January, 2009. His YouTube channel now has over 15 million video views. Bryant has written many funny and silly songs for kids. You can find them either at Bryant Oden's YouTube Channel.
