Nightlights for Babies

To establish a great sleep pattern it is important that at about an hour before bed time, you start to do familiar actions, so that your child starts to work out, what is expected next. This starts to install feelings of security, and predictability, for your baby. Very important factors for children to be content and feel safe. Start off with a lovely soothing bath, this is done quietly and calmly. Whilst drying your baby make soothing, quiet sounds, and ensure other distractions like the TV are kept to a minimum. The word is CALM, everything should be done calmly, even if the wee one is screaming the place down, slow easy and calmly.
Once baby is powdered and wrapped up, if your baby likes to take a bottle before bed, make sure your baby is well winded, before placing in cot have the room dimly lit with a nightlight, or small wattage lamp, the environment is so important, blaring lights and loud TV are all stimulants. If you have other kids, ask them to play quietly whilst you put the baby to sleep, and then the quicker that happens the quicker you can play with them....
I found that the more I carried out this routine the better a nights sleep both she and I would have. My daughter has a very healthy sleep routine. And will get ready and go to bed without problems.
