Thinking about this storybook for kids brings back such warm memories of story time with my children, when the same favorite book could be read over and over, even hundreds of times, and still never get old (to the kids).

A Sweet and Charming Storybook For Kids

Storybook For Kids - Sometimes I Like to Curl up in a Ball

Sometimes I Like to Curl up in a Ball, written by Vicki Churchill, is a very sweet and charming storybook for kids about a young Wombat who shares his favorite activities throughout the day and then ends up in the best place of all, with his Mom (my personal favorite part of the book). Each time I read this storybook for kids to my children, they would excitedly act out each of the Wombat's favorite activities. No doubt, 'screaming ever so loud' was their all time favorite activity (with or without the book, actually).

We also enjoyed this book's colorful illustrations by renowned artist Charles Fuge. I think the adorable drawings of Wombat's funny faces were the most inspirational part of the book. My children's faces would become 'possessed' with numerous, oh so many, too many to count, funny faces during this part of story time.

This 20 page storybook for kids created many hours of fun, enjoyment and entertainment for my family.

I recommend it to all who read to their young children.

Reading Aloud To Children

National Children's Reading Foundation

My children are no longer toddlers, they are pre-teens and a teenager. All are avid readers, and I'd like to believe that all those hours spent reading aloud to them helped to influence their love for reading.

According to the National Children's Reading Foundation's website:

'Sharing books from birth develops successful students. Your child, snuggling in your lap, and enjoying your time and laughter, is learning to love reading. As long as it is a happy experience there is no wrong way to read together. Reading aloud is practically free, you can do it any where and children often beg for "just one more." Even parents who are not fluent readers can provide a good experience for their children by telling stories from their lives, from their imaginations, or from pictures in wordless books. It is best to read to your child early and often, but it is never too late to start in any language.'

So, remember to set aside some time to read aloud to your children. When you have a busy schedule, as most parents do, it's easy to put off until tomorrow. But when you choose a book as fun as 'Sometimes I like to Curl up in a Ball' the fun you'll enjoy with you children will be well worth the time and energy spent!

I have never heard of this book but it sounds lovely for my kids! I love reading my kids the same books I read when I was young. Anything from Clifford, to Golden Books! I will certainly be reading them Harry Potter when they're older!

Some children's books are so cute that it is fun to simply read them as adults. I like to curl up in a ball looks like an amazing children's story.

Yes! I do and will consider buying this book. My favorite at the moment is "The Barnyard Dance" by Sandra Boynton.

My favorite children's book is "Horton Hatches the Egg" by Dr. Seuss. I just love the story, the moral, and the repetitive lines. But I have this book as well -- who can resist a story about a Wombat!
