Great looking lens! I love the spicy stuff!

I loved your lens, you really are "the standard bearer" for the rest of us to work our way towards. Your lens made me think of so many thoughts: My sister's mother-in-law Edna grew Jalapenos in her garden in northwest Iowa, it was the first time I ever tried one. Three glasses of ice and ice water later I could almost feel the inside of my mouth... I worked with a guy that swore by "Sinus Blaster" made from peppers, he discovered it while working with police testing pepper spray(his story). =*) And my junior high school friend mentioned her son was in one of those acapella groups and they were doing a Red Hot Chili Pepper song (please listen it's great, better than their version if you ask me.) By the Way

Spicy is my middle name. I enjoy the hotness when i take a bite into my food during my meals. Reading up on their history, origins and ratings on level of spiciness gets my excited.

    Cheers,

What an interesting lens. I did not know most of the info given here! I especially like the Szent-Gyorgyi story.

My wife and I have been eating a lot of Chile and Jalapeno peppers lately because they boost your metabolism. We're over 40 now and need any boost I can get to keep the weight off.
  • Rockett May 21, 2011 @ 2:45 pm | delete
What great information. I love chiles of all sorts and varieties. You've given me a few to search for.

Nice lens! We have trouble growing peppers up here (Pacific Northwest), but I saw Territorial Seeds in Oregon has a bunch of pepper starts (some that actually mature in our climate, haha), so I'm going to try a bunch this year. :)

Congrats on lotd! So glad you did because I want to know if you have any idea how to make your own cayenne pepper. I had a Thai friend who used to give me a jar full once a year and I'm out and I don't live near her anymore.

This is a great lens! I miss the state question in New Mexico... "Red or green?" referring to which sauce you want. They are made from Long Green Chiles.

I love chili con carne with cheese. :-) YUM!!! we also used to put chilli juice on our water guns... and well you know what happens when you get hit. :)

I think chili (or chile) peppers are the prettiest veggie there is. My husband and I grew loads of different varieties when we lived on a Pennsylavnia farm. I learned the hard way NOT to pick peppers and then touch my eyes. Ow! Anyhow ... great lens!
  • Webcodes Jan 30, 2009 @ 10:25 pm | delete
Enjoyed the read. I am korean and I do eat a lot of chilis. :) 5*

Wow, I love the graphics on this lens. You also have some very good writing. This is from a chile lover from New Mexico! By the way, since you have already described some interesting chile anecdotes, maybe do some research on the New Mexico state question: Red, green, or christmas?
    5***** from me!
