Chinese Stock Market

China stock market has been getting a lot of attention lately, not least because it was the best performing stock market in the world in 2006. After doubling in 2006, the Shanghai composite index has already powered ahead by 50% in May, 2007.
Increasingly, a large number of Chinese companies are going public (IPO) on the US stock markets. In fact, most Chinese IPO from 2005 to 2008 has done well, particularly in the clean energy sector.

Stock Market in China

The stock market in China is regulated by the China Securities Regulatory Commission. Under government security rules, there are three classes of stocks (i.e. the A-Share, B-Share and H-share) that Chinese company can sell to the public.

China still limits foreigners' purchases of the yuan-denominated stocks that make up the biggest share of the markets. But that is gradually changing as regulators allow increasing participation by so-called qualified foreign institutional investors.

You might ask now how this is going to help me if I am not able invest in China's stock market. Don't worry, there are multiple ways you can still get some investment exposure to China's booming economy.

I agree on what you wrote here.
China is home to the fastest-growing economy the world has ever seen. In the face of a crippling global economic downturn, China economy powered ahead in 2009, driven by big government stimulus programs and large increases in bank lending. And while China isn't immune to the downturn, it continues to experience impressive growth and resiliency. China and its citizens are growing richer each day. In January, China overtook the U.S. to become the world's largest auto market. Its entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO) and hosting of the 2008 Olympics reflect its growing role on the world economic stage.
