Holidays in China
Chinese holidays are quite different from holidays celebrated in the Western world. December 25 is just another day here in the most populous country in the world while the whole country virtually shuts down come mid-January when everyone tries to head home to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
Here I'll share with you some of the unique holidays that China observes. This weekend is the Solar New Year's for which they get a day off and then next is Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) and Lantern Festival.

Chinese New Year
Spring Festival or Lunar New Year
For China, and most Asian countries, this is the most important holiday of the year. Students get about 4 weeks off of school and employees get seven days off.
