Chinese Auctions
Ranked #3,090 in Hobbies, Games & Toys, #34,757 overall
Even if you only bring $20 you can win a really big prize. After all, it only takes one ticket to win!
Here are some great tips for people who love to win and people who are looking to have a Chinese Auction as a fundraiser!
Tips for attending a Chinese Auction!
I love going to Chinese Auctions. They are a lot of fun and raise money for great causes. Here are my Chinese Auction Tips!
Tip #1 - Get your tickets in advance and get there early. Most places sell out before the auction so buy your tickets as soon as you find out about the auction. Get there early, there is nothing worse then not having enough seats for your entire party.
Tip #2 - Bring food. Most people bring lots of food and have a party while waiting for the drawing to start.
Tip #3 - Buy a range of tickets. Most of the time they will have tickets at 10 for $1, $2 tickets and $5 tickets. The higher priced tickets can win you big ticket items like TV's, patio furniture and vacations. Buy at least one of these tickets. It only takes 1 to win. I try to bring at least $100 dollars so that I can buy lots of tickets.
Tip #4 - Place your tickets in every bag. Usually there are 300+ prizes. It's fun to have a chance to win everything so put at least 1 ticket in every bag.
Tip #5 - Play the "underdog" I always do this. Place a bunch of tickets in a bag thats has no tickets. The prize might be stupid (Karate Lessons, Mr. Potato Head a Flamigo Lawn Ornament) but hey you are almost guaranteed a win which leads us to Tip #6.
Tip #6 - It's fun to win. When they call your number yell and scream. After all you just won something cool!
Using these tips I always end up winning at least 10 prizes, some are stupid some are nice, but it's fun and for charity.
